What are you making for Thanksgiving?
This year will be the first year that I will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner. I have tons of holiday recipes from my Aunt and Grandmothers, however, I want a few things that are all 'mine'. New favorites, I guess you could say.
So, what are YOU having for thanksgiving?

We moved away from my grandmother when I was 12. Every single thanksgiving since then, I've made my grandmother's pan stuffing -- it's different from the stuffing that you'd put in the turkey. Here are the ingredients
homemade chicken broth
white bread, torn/cubed and air-dried
lots of butter to saute celery and onions
eggs
salt
pepper
good quality sage
It's my absolute FAVORITE dish!

I haven't planned the whole menu yet, but there will be Tofurky, pumpkin soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes of some sort, grean beans with shallot sauce, popovers, and apple pie.

The usual. I have to make T-day JUST like my dh's grandmother made it, or the
. LOL! Naw, not really but I do have to make her dressing, and I can ADD, but not subtract anything. All the usual dishes have to be there.
Turkey
Dressing
Mashed taters
Gravy
That gol'darn green bean casserole
Pecan sweet potatoes
Rolls (have to be brown and serve (?!?) ---one year I made scratch yeast rolls and everybody had a cow.
Pies--apple, pumpkin, pecan, chocolate cream
Cookies for the little ones
This is for dh's family--about 23 people, give or take someone bringing a boyfriend or whatev.

I usually make a cheesy mashed potatoe. I just add some sour cream, cream cheese and shred cheese to my potatoes and put them back in the oven for a bit.
This year, I think I will add garlic so that they are a garlic and cheese mashed potatoe.

Probably the same thing I make every year:
2 turkeys ~ one roasted and one smoked
my holiday mashed potatoes
my sweet potato casserole
stuffing
gravy
cinnamon pears
cole slaw
green bean casserole
corn
peas
relish tray
desserts: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, chocolate pie
I try to have one new dish every year...usually an appetizer of some sort.

First off I think you are insane doing this with a newborn!
We always have Thanksgiving at my Mom's house and we split the cooking duties.
Appetizers
cheese and crackers
shrimp cocktail
veggies and dip
Main Meal
Turkey
stuffing
gravy
mashed potatoes
glazed sweet potatoes
butternut squash
creamed onions
2-3 kinds of cranberry sauce
green salad
Dessert
apple pie
pumpkin pie
pecan pie
I usually bring apps and desserts and we work on dinner together when I get there.

It'll be the same as every year.
Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Mandarin Orange jello
Olives
Stuffed Celery
Rolls (these have changed over the years. We used to always get the brown and serve that you can only get during the holidays, but we really like the frozen pillsbury rolls. They're really flaky)
Of course, pumpkin pie for dessert.
We usually have sparkling cider too.

Well, to be completely honest, dh cooks Thanksgiving dinner. I make some mean mashed potatoes, but he does the rest.
He cooks a turkey, makes some mushroom thing that he and my mom like, I make potatoes, we make corn, I make biscuits, and that's about it.
It is my all time favorite meal of the year.
