    Default What happened to Incognito?

I've been off the forum dealing with my terminal diagnosis for two years. I can still type and walk so I decided to come back and reconnect. I also think I have some fresh advice to offer others in the way of health care. I'm no longer teaching or practicing public accounting and I miss my students.

I used to follow Incognito's thread. She lived in Canada and I see that she stopped posting last year. I know she had health issues and had to work very hard to make ends meet.

I also briefly followed a lady who lived off the grid. I can't remember her name but I do remember several posters challenged her so maybe she got scared off.

Does anyone know what happened to these two?

I remember the woman who lived off grid because she was fascinating to me. I too always wondered if some people scared her off. I think though that maybe she was having to take her grandkids in? If I remember correctly, her daughter was going through some rough times.

She PM'd me privately but I must have deleted all my private messages after that time. Some people just didn't believe her story. I did and I found it to be very interesting and informative.

Yes, her daughter got in trouble and she was trying to help her and the grandchildren. All I remember is that she was a very hard worker with a good heart.

Some people are quick to judge and just don't back off. When I gave my students the assignment to post on this forum and report some things they discovered about frugal living, I was accused of having a bunch of aliases. Good grief!

A lot of people have just silently moved on over the years.
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

I've been off forum for a while but I'm making my way back. Kim, I've always found your posts very interesting and inspiring. I retired from nursing 3 years ago so health is still an interest of mine. The best of luck to you on your health challenges, I've seen amazing things over the years in the field of medicine.

I enjoyed their posts, (and yours,) too. Like you, I have been off of this forum for a while. I was just busy with my work and home. I'm sorry to hear you have health issues, but am glad you are posting again. You are an excellent teacher.

I mostly was a lurker here. I had trouble logging in...

The off grid lady.... first part of ID was wood something. If you care to go back in the archives you can find her ID. I googled her back then and she DID come up under the ID.

Incognito had health issues. Whether that was part of her disappearance I don't know. I hope not. But she had also talked quite a few times about her having canceled internet and having to go to the library to use it. She also had to move. Maybe the library became a burdensome trip as she walked everywhere.

I've thought about her also. I hope she's ok.

it's sad when you look at old posts and you don't recognize any names. You wonder what happened to them all.

    I agree!
I wandered away when the IT department at my job got stiffer firewalls that block several sites including FV. I now log on from home.

I think the person you're talking about was Woodswoman, but don't recall for sure.

Agree. I remember a long time ago when it was the old crew I made a post... maybe it was a comment.. can't remember for sure... about this same thing. I had said I wondered what had happened to several .. by name. I do believe it was Sara that chimed in and said we weren't to ask that. To respect their privacy. Blah blah blah.

I know a lot of people that aren't here anymore from back in the day are on facebook. I'm friends with quite a few of them.

I miss "the good old days" when all was on here.
