Was 40 hard to take?

Turning 40 wasn't bad. I'm having trouble at 42 because of all the changes going on in my life. Not that life is over or anything I just am trying to figure where I fit into it all. Between my sis taking her life to my dd graduating to my kids just not needing me much anymore it's just a little tough at times.
Hubby is 11 yrs older than me and hated turning 50. He just feels/felt more than half his life is over. I keep/kept reminding him of all the wonderful things that lie ahead.
Just keep learning & growing.

Turning 40 was not a big deal for me. I wasn't too thrilled when I hit 44 though, having the numbers match just seemed strange. But at 45 I just figure whatever age someone is is fine.

Turning 40 didn't bother me but it nearly freaked my mother out - - her baby was 40!!!!

Turning 40 was a big deal for me! I broke out in a rash and stayed in bed for two days.

I think it was society's opinion of women over 40 that bothered me. I feel society tends to minimize older women and that bothers me a lot!

I turn 40 this coming December, and I've decided like Heather was talking about that it's just a number. I've set some goals to meet by my b-day like losing some weight (on my way), eating healthier, exercising, and some other stuff. But I don't want to be one of those women who lies about her age. I just want to be healthy and look as good as I can, so that when people ask, I can answer honestly and have them say well you don't look it or something like that!!
