    Default Hamburger Pancakes

    Hamburger Pancakes

    Recipe Description
Tasty meal when you need to stretch 1/2 lb of ground meat. I got this out of a cookbook that was used during the Great depression. Serve alone or with tomato or mushroom sauce. Great with mashed potatos.
    Preparation Steps:
Preaheat griddle or frying pan grease if needed with unsalted fat.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:Ingredients:
    1/2 lb hamburger meat
    1 tablespoon chooped onion
    1/2 teasppon salt
    1/4 teasppon baking powder
    3 egg yolks
    Serves:Directions:
Combine 1/2 lb hamburger meat, add onion, salt and baking powder, and egg yolks. Fold in 3 egg whites stiffly beaten.
Drop like pancakes onto hot griddle, cook until done turning once.

That sounds interesting... do they come out like a pancake that you can eat by hand or do you need a knife and fork?

They do come out more flat like pancakes. My daughter ate them with her hands I used a knife and fork.
