Thrifty Thursday 5/28/09
Today could be a no-spend day, unless we have to pay admission at DD and DS's swim meet. It should be easier than usual, because I'm at work on the overnight shift, and will be sleeping until at least noon! I've been busy filling the pantry ,and am challenging myself to purchase only milk, cottage cheese and fresh fruit in June, instead relying on my pantry for the rest. Wish me luck!!

~ cherry pick a couple of baking supplies tat are on sale
~ defrost and make dinner
~ prep some homemade baking mixes
~ take some books/magazines to the book store to sell

Well today I have to work, 9-2, then come home, and hopefully get a couple loads of laundry done...I'm so behind on laundry and can never seem to get caught up! Then we are going to do dinner, and then my youngest has Karate Lessons tonight...That's about it for my day!

I have to work this afternoon/evening so I'll do my morning routine, exercise and wash the dog bedding. I'll have to dry it in the dryer as they are calling for thunderstorms this afternoon/evening.

I need to:
~get DS up, dressed and out the door for school
~get to the grocery store to get cupcakes supplies for DS's b-day treats tomorrow
~Bake said cupcakes
~Hit the gym (today is an optional gym day, so we'll see if I have time)
~Get 2 loads of laundry done, including all the bedding
~Get dinner done early
~Get to DS's baseball game tonight
In between that, I am still trying to finish a decopage project and I need to get some other crafts done. Usually Thursday is my craft day, but it's gonna be a busy one, so we'll see how much crafting I actually get done!

Today is DH's 33rd bday, so I'm heading to the mall to pick him up a gift and have lunch while I'm there. I also need a pair of sandals, so I'm gonna check out the sales for a really cute pair. I have to bake his cake and get some ice cream, so I'm stopping to the store on the way home from the mall.
I have to pay bills sometime today since DH got paid (I get my money tomorrow) and with my inlaws coming in, I have to make three different salads to go with dinner and some bbq rotisserie chicken on the grill. We're also having deviled eggs for the kids. It's a busy day!
DS5 and DS10 both have all-day field trips, so I have to drop DS5 off to school at 8:34 since DS10 gets picked up at 7:51 by his bus. After I drop DS5 off, it's a walk to the train station to go to the mall and hang out for a while. I might actually just come back here and leave here at 9:30 since the stores don't open until after 10. I'm hoping I can make it back to the house before 2pm because I have to pick DS5 up from school then and my inlaws are heading into town at noon. (They'll be going up to DH's work to pick him up and do some bank stuff for the debt payoff.)
I'm so busy today!

I've already got a load of laundry line-drying inside. We'll see how that goes.
After DD goes to school, I'm biking to Ace Hardware to see if they can sharpen my sewing shears (they need it badly).
Dinner will be DHs leftover b-day dinner from last night.
This evening I have a meeting with my organic garden club. We have a speaker tonight on growing herbs.

Half the day is over. We're doing standardized testing in our homeschool, two more sections to go (we're on break), and we'll be done! Yay!!!
DEFINITELY not a no spend day for us, as we need to fill the gas tank (low fuel sensor is dinging :-\). Ugh. Gasoline is SO expensive in Western NY. They've got us coming and going. When it gets too high, I try to be very careful about where and when we're driving, and really try to not waste our gasoline.
My brother is turning 50 today, so we have his party. We bought his card and gift last night. Not a cheap week for us, AND in a no payday week. :-\ But we'll be OK, I hope.

This was an overcast day, and cool.I did my workout, the pet chores, linens and a quick house skim, then worked out in my flowerbeds. I transplanted a couple more snake plants into beautiful pots I picked up in New Mexico. Have supper on warm in the oven, as DH is working late. I am going to head over to the gym to do my weights and swim with my DD and G-kids . It is children's swim at the gym.Hope you all had a good day!

Today was "Run yourself ragged day" for me. I had one of those nights where my mind was racing 1000 miles a minute. I remember it was 4 o'clock when I looked at the clock last. I woke up at 7am on the dot!!!! Then it was...
Take a shower after I drank 2 cups of coffee
finished grocery list
picked up check
went to bank
went to Amish store
hit another store for fruit, frozen sweet corn, and Throwback Pepsi
Big Lots, bird feeders, storage bin for dog treats(we don't have any dogs), cheap omelett(sp?) skillet for fiancee
Wm for even more groceries
Filled gas tank up once I got back to our town
Came home and put my grocery store away
Fixed my dinner, fiancee is working nights
Figured bills-paid one
Now I think once I'm done posting for the day, I will take 2 Advil Pm tablets to get rid of those bees that keep buzzing between my eyes. They usually knock me right out so I hope I don't wake up until the alarm goes off at 6.
