Default What's everyone up to on this Thursday?

It's a nice day here but the wind is supposed to blow a gale later.... .

I'm about to dig out some jars and get them in the dishwasher to make the last batch of salsa (omg! 12 hours yesterday making the salsa) after my walk.

    So for me today it's:
    ~get jars into dishwasher
~get dressed and head out to the track to walk 2 1/2 to 3 miles
    ~come home, shower/dress/makeup/hair
    ~do one load of laundry
    ~clean off desk
    ~reconcile bank statements
    ~pay some bills
~need to decide on something for dinner, too.
~dinner and Big Brother on tv tonite

Hope everyone has a fun, frugal day.

    ~Do laundry

~spend some quality time with my trusty shredder going through the gazillion credit card offers and shredding them all.
~go to town and pick up a couple of movies from the library.

Run by my mom's office and pick up a deposit she would like for me to make for her.

Copy the kids' attendance reports from last quarter and drop them off at our homeschool cover.

Go to the post office and mail the house payment.

    Take DS to football practice.

    Watch Big brother

    Fix some dinner

DH and I will do some studying with the kids.

    Thursday:

12 appt to get my hair done (1st time in 2 months) this is 1 hr away, and I'll take some books, etc. with me to donate to a thrift shop. I have a pkg of the Marcal TP we bought that I can't stand. I'll donate it to the refugee group. I hate feeling ripped off, and I feel ripped off everytime I look at the package; it's not worth the stomach acid.

I have a book to get in the mail to a customer, and the check for it to deposit.

There's a used furniture store I'd like to investigate. I'll find the new location for the thrift shop (donate books, etc) and check out the used furntiure store. It's the wrong season to sell books.

Also, there's a Market Basket in the town I'm going, and they've always had the cheapest price on milk, so I'll get some, we're out.

I have corn to dry and/or freeze, veg. soup stock to freeze, and need to set up DH with the leftovers he's having for lunch. (Cream of Potato-Leek soup on a baked 'tater.)

I need to figure out what's for dinner. We had a veggie, but high-fat dinner last night (the soup, with bread & butter), so it needs to be very low-fat. I haven't a clue, salad maybe?

This morning I'm folding a TON of laundry. I've already typed up two papers for school.

I have an 11am class, then home for a couple of hours before my marathon of classes from 2-6pm Dh has the day off so he's picking up the kids & starting dinner.

After dinner it's school work, baths, cleaning up the house, and getting ready for tomorrow...FRIDAY

My first of two days off in a row, I'm paying bills, cleaning house, mowing the front yard, and running errands. Going to see a friend this evening. Won't be online much at all. Feeling guilty about being on now! LOL

    Afternoon frugalites!

Went to class this morning. Hung out with some new friends (FRIENDS! Finally!) and had an interesting class discussing our goals and how we plan to achieve them. Mine consist of the following:

Perfect attendance -- 90% or more. Counts for 5 points of our final mark!

Perfect dress score -- on Wednesdays, we are supposed to dress up -- suits, ties, slacks, heels, etc. Counts for 5 points of our final mark!

Honors in class -- get 90% in marks, 95% in attendance, and 85% overall.

Study and work hard -- I want to be able to graduate with damn good (probably not top, but damn good) marks.

Improve my memory -- I'm only 25, but I have the memory of a 95 year old woman. It's terrible! is constantly telling me "You already told me that -- three times! Today!"

Keep up with the housework and such. wants to work full-time while going to school full-time. And he said as long as I can pay my half of rent, I don't have to get a second part-time job. So I'm trying to make myself invaluable at home by taking care of all the housework and chores.

PINCH THOSE PENNIES!!! With me no longer working full-time, our income has gone down over $1200/month. So every penny must be pinched until it squeals.
After class, I walked with a friend and classmate for a bit, and it turned out she was going to walk home -- her walk is at least a 20 minute drive at 60 km., and she has a lot of medical problems. So I told her I'd drive her. So we walked to my apartment and I drove her home from there. It was nice to get to chat with her and spend some time with her outside of classes. I think we're going to be good friends.

Now I'm spending my afternoon cleaning and cooking, and then and I are running around the city with some errands.
