I called the electric company today to get on a budget plan. I guessed it would be 200 a month and it was! She said give or take 20 bucks lower or higher. This includes water and sewer. Thank god I don't have to try to come up with 400 or so bucks for the August bill!!!

It's going to be easier to budget.

Now on the dark side. My gas bill came in the mail today and it's up 22 bucks more a month. They re-do it every Feb and July. Aargh! And I tried to cut back there last winter....

Our electric/heat/hot water bill runs $208/mo on the budget plan. We have central air, but only run it when its over 90 outside. Our bill does not include water or sewer which runs a little under $100 for 3 mos.

I just got mine - not as bad as I expected in this weather. It was $54, up from $47 last month. I have an all electric apartment, but it's small, relatively shaded, and don't have washer/dryer. That helps with electric, but probably comes out about even, or a little higher being condemned to the apartment laundry room.

On the other hand my monthly budget plan dropped from $48 to $44. Maybe this is the month they adjust mine since I think I moved to this apartment around the beginning of September. Otherwise, I have no explanation for that.

My bill this month was 89.32. Went up $35 more than last month, but than I had the air conditioner on due to the heat and humidity. Hopefully since I haven't had the air conditioner on this month it will go down again.

I wish my bill was what yours is, my electric bill alone is $130-160 a month, I have no sewage or garbage bill, no rent. My gas bill overdue is $50 total for 3 months.

I would love my bill to be what yours is the last time I say that bill was in 2000 in the winter for an all electric apt.

    Electric - $34
    Gas - $43
    Water/trash - $65

The electric and gas are on the averaged billing plan. House has windows replaced, newer mechanicsals and a lot of attic insulation.

    960 sq ft, 1 floor - 3 bedroom on a slab

I do run the a/c on 78. Lights off except task lighting during daylight and home most of the day. I don't use oven or dryer much.

$159.56. That is no gas just electric. Absolutely no dryer usage during that billing cycle. We do use window air conditioners upstairs in the two bedrooms at night since it had been so hot. We do have a well pump so that adds to the bill also. In cooler weather we usually average between $120-$130. Kind of ridiculous since we dont have a dishwasher, dont use the dryer and unplug.

I growled when I opened the bill to see they are asking for yet another rate increase. It seems to increase every 6 months! Our rates are so high.

Our current electric bill is $115, not bad! I've actually survived this entire summer without turning the AC on....a first for us! It hasn't been to bad, dry heat I can handle but we've had several days (including today) with higher then normal humidity for So Cal. We also receive a credit (usually around $25) for our June, July, August and September electric bills because we participate in our electric company's AC recycling program.

Oh wow, I am so happy I sucked it up and lived without AC this summer: My two month electric bill went down from 119.28 to 88.28!

I have no idea what the reason is for the drop...could it be our new laptop? Maybe the old one (dell purchased in 04 or 05) was sucking up a lot of electricity?

We ran the ceiling fans nonstop during this time, so I was expecting an increase for the 2 month period.

We used 314 KW and 728 on the last bill.

    Very cool!
