We recently moved from Indianapolis to Richmond IN. We had Comcast for internet, no tv, for close to $75. I was going to transfer the service but I found a somewhat local provider, Frontier, for only $30. It's supposed to be a slower internet, but I just hooked it up today and have been running Netflix on my Roku, my laptop, my phone, and DH's laptop and phone, have have noticed no difference in speed at all. (running so many to do updates, plus our phones have Roku remotes.) If I an figure out how to get some broadcast channels to watch football, I will never touch comcast again!

    $74 with TWC...

When I signed up for this, it was $49 for 30mb down and 7mb up... which wasn't bad at the time. It's reasonably reliable and I do get the full speed. Netflix works and iTunes starts HD movies and TV shows in real time, so that's good enough.

But it's slowly crept up in price. $54, then $59, $63, then most recently $74.

The alternative is Verizon FiOS which is $69 for the same speed (actually slightly faster) but I understand Verizon has issues with Netflix, which is where I watch the majority of my shows.

I don't have Cable TV at all.

CenturyLink, $25. Not sure what the speed is but it's enough to stream Netflix pretty well most of the time, although we have some time outs and buffering on occasion.

We pay a lot, for home phone and internet we are paying with taxes $143.75 a month. I am trying to downsize a bit while keeping the family still happy. It is the internet that is exceptionally high. The guys don't want to go to the lower internet service as they play games, watch movies, Hockey Season is upon us etc....but I am working on it lol
