i get them from the vermont country store - "plus size" merino wool knee socks. it's possible they are hand knit.

the sweater is definitely hand knit from ireland.

I always used to end up taking way too much! Now I try really hard to cut it back to the bare minimum...still 1 pair of underwear????

I would think at least 3 whether you're going for a week or a month. Here's why: wear one pair, wash and hang one pair, and have a spare...
    The same goes for socks.

Basics always work: khakis (the kind with cuffs that roll up to capris or shorts) with white t-shirts, hoodies, good walking shoes. A black skirt will go with the t-shirt and sandals/flipflops.

Good luck! Isn't planning travel fun? Almost as much fun as the trip itself, in my opinion!

We do not travel often, and when we do it is never very far. I do not pack light ever. I'm terrible, a 5 day trip and I'm bringing my closet!

My favorite trips are to Mexico and I pack light. Have for years shopped in the goodwill and esp before a trip as I wear the clothes and then leave them in the room when I leave. Someone will get use of them and I have room for the stuff I buy there.Amazing what you can to without when not having to spiff up for going to work!

I've done 10 days in Europe with a duffel bag. I leave space because I know I will buy things while I am there.

all depends where we are travelling to and for what reason. beach vaca's done sooo often, that, we travel very lightly for those. just depends. when going somewhere high end (like the montage in laguna) i DO NOT or WILL NOT pack lightly!
