A view of the Harbour, the coloured cottages you saw before, don't have a garden frontage, they have a road, then their gardens are sort of fenced off and across the road opposite the harbour, I was standing ( in last pic) trying NOT to step inside someone's garden

Awe, Suzy consented to sit still so you could look at the Castle some more

What's in Dh's back pack? er, Suzy's towel ( for drying off after her swim , er, her supply of iced water & bowl, and her ball, for the beach, of course and let's face it Suzy comes first and "Dad" has to carry it )

Oh how I wish you could be my personal tour guide (you sort of were with all these wonderful pics!!!) when I get to visit England (way way off in the distant future we plan to visit England, Scotland and Ireland - once the kids can fend for themselves )

Beautiful pics, and you don't look fat at all, you look wonderful. I love the last pic too, Suzy all tuckered out. (btw our kitty has the same name) Looks like you had a wonderful trip.

Oh Karen, those pictures are wonderful! I am in awe of the castles...and the old homes looking so quaint.

I've been to London, Nottingham, and Oxford, but none of those compare to what I see here. Next time I go to the beach!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post all of them; I truly enjoyed them!

Michelle, Warkworth Castle was built 865 years ago in about 1140 AD it had it's Cruciform Keep added in the 15 th Century.

Shakespeare set some of the scenes of his play "Henry IV Part one" at Warkworth, where the Earl of Northumberland and his son Harry Hotspur, plotted their rebellion against the King!

There is so much History to these places, but, I think maybe we have so many old places here we kind of take it for granted!

Just 30 mins drive fror where I live, ( in York, as in Old York, rather than "New York"!) there is a Church that was built in about 1326 Ad normally you can just go in and sit and soak up the incredible atmostphere........I don't proscribe to any formal Religion, but, the hairs stick up on the back of my neck, when I go in there ..........in a good way though

    HTH?
    Karen

Looking for people to sign up for my next up coming tour of the English Lake District..........in November ( although I do have pictures from earlier this year........................?)

    Love them, Karen.

It's neat to see what you actually saw. If we ever get there to visit DH's family, we'll have to pop over to see you. Your towns are only about an hour apart.
