I would love to go, but i doubt it will ever happen. We just don't have the money and DH (definately not a "dear" here) doesn't want to spend the money on it.

We spent three weeks in the UK for our honeymoon - everyone laughs when we tell them we spent a week at a vinyard in Wales, but the wine they produce is quite good!

DH travels the world for work, but that was the last time I left the country, 10 years ago in April! Would love to bring Lily there some day!

No never have been outta the US (except for Niagra Falls & Canada weekend trip for a VW show)

My Dad always thought about taking me & my brother back to CZECHOSLOVAKIA to meet all my relatives I have never met before!

But we never got to go

I don't know many of my cousins in Europe & my Dad would always write in the slovak so I'd never be able to read any of the letters he had saved, etc. I have ALL of them saved since we moved Ma into our house, everything got packed up!

I remember many years ago my Dad's sister came out to visit & I was a lil girl & for Christmas that year I got this taking doll named Gabigail well I actually got 2 of them since My Mom & Dad bought me one & so did my God Father so I gave one to my Aunt to bring back w/her to Europe!

A few years ago I met some other relative of mine & he was living out here for awhile but going back!

While my brother was in the Nursing Home for rehab before he died of adeno-carcinoma there was a guy there who knew some of our relatives in Europe!

I gave him some of the letters & he translated them for my brother & said he knows where this address is & he knew some of my cousins

It's strange how things happen that way!

Yes, as a junior in High school the band I was in went to the World Music Festival in Kekrade Holland. We stayed in a abbey while competeing. From there we could walk across the border into Germany. After we won first place we went on via bus throught Beligum to France. Spent time in Paris, then took the hoovercraft across the English Channel to Dover. Played for the queen at the Royal Tournment in London, made a documentary in Birmingham, rode across the Irish Sea on a frieghter to Dublin.
Kissed the Blarney stone, ate in a Irish Castle and flew home via Iceland.
The most incrediable time of my life. We saw museums, historical land marks,
great churches and catherdals. All the things you read about! Would go back in a heart beat and really pay attention this time. If I had the option I'd travel by car you miss so much when your trapped on a bus. I'm the type to pull over and get out and take the moment to enjoy a place.

For a family trip when I was seven, England, France, Spain and Belgium.

To England and Scotland for college graduation in 2001.

and a couple of years ago to chaperone a high school group in Spain. (One of the chaperones that was supposed to go fell and broke her leg and had to have surgery during the trip so they needed someone with a passport and I was the lucky one that got the call.)

I have always wanted to travel to Europe. I have even had foreign exchange students from Germany, France, Yugoslavia and France....but I still don't have the courage to be out of my country. I guess I'd feel like a fish out of water. There will always be a part of me that would love to get beyond that. The flip side of it is that I travel frequently...in my non-frugal days I traveled to Disneyland (live in Washington State) some 24+ times and I have been to Hawaii 10 times. The only out of country experience is Canada and Mexico...but that was a mission trip so I was with a whole group of people, not just my family. Maybe someday I'll stretch myself and just do it!
