Going on a cruise.......
Recently paid off all my credit card bills and all I owe on is my vehicle and home. The wifes is paid for. I just booked us a short lil cruise and got it for less than $800 for the both of us. I have enough in saving to pay off my vehicle but the cruise will put that off by just a few months. My wife and I really need a vacation since we did not go on a honeymoon. I do feel a bit guilty for booking the cruise while still owning for my vehicle but I do have that much in cash in savings.
All we have is one car payment and our house payment and the usual utilities.

Aww, go and have fun, we all need a reward now and then, otherwise we REALLY go off the deep end.
BTW, had to laugh, at first I though you were saying "the wife IS all paid for" and was really wondering!!! LOL

I read it that way to at first Kj...
I'd say go on the cruise, have a great time. Beware of the crap they sell on the ship, the casino (it's very stingy) and the photographers. (the pics cost $19.95 ea. on Royal Carribean) Take your own camera and have a few lookers on take a shot of the 2 of you together in a nice setting and at dinner. If you drink soda buy a drink card or cup or whatever and watch out for your bar bill if you drink mixed drinks, they ain't cheap either. Be sure to take everything you'll need (I forgot sunscreen on the last one, cost me 12 bucks!). Most importantly HAVE FUN!!!

All work and no play ... by all means, have a great trip. Frugality isn't about total deprivation, and you seem to have your finances well in hand. There's nothing wrong with a vacation now and then.

Yea! Have a GREAT time! Like someone said beware of all the hidden costs like pictures etc. If you can stop before going to port, buy some bottled water and soda to carry on. We always do that so we won't be tempted to purchase theirs. I always buy 20 oz bottles cause you can drink the rest later. I am not much of a drinker so we never spend much in that department.
By all means, check out the Cruise Critic message boards!
