What are you doing for your SO for Valentine's Day?
This year rather than spend money on something pointless that he doesn't need, I am working on writing a song for my hubby. I play the piano and can write lyrics and music decently, it will be the singing part that will be difficult for me, but I'm willing to try. I know it will mean a lot to him.
I'll probably also bake him some cookies (a whole batch to himself, it's a Valentine's tradition) and make a nice dinner or something.
Has anyone else thought yet about what they're doing for their significant other for Valentine's?

That song idea is really sweet- I'm sure he'll love it.
DH and I have never celebrated Valentine's day. Some years I'll make a special dinner or dessert for us at home, but that's about it.
This year DD and I might bake some heart-shaped cookies... she's old enough to start enjoying that sort of thing.

We'll go to our church valentine banquet and then (on another day) out to eat but that's about it. We don't do big gifts. Although this year I may be giving birth to his third child. That's a pretty big gift.

For valentines we always do the same thing, I make a special dinner and we all (kids included) eat buy candlelight. We use the good china, and since none of us like wine we get sparkling grape juice. We get the kids some chocolates and we exchange cards.

I can't top the giving birth thing...
I'll probably get Gripey something although I don't know what. It will be his 2nd anniversary of giving up smoking (he did this for me as a V-Day gift
) so I want to do something. Otherwise I'll probably be cooking his fave meal that I almost never cook anymore due to dietary reasons. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and maybe some brownies
I might set the table and light the candles as well this year.

DH and I are going to an indoor climbing wall. This is a big deal because DH doesn't like heights so his VDay gift to me is to try it.

I'll hide his card in the coffee container the night beforeso he finds it first thing in the morning. Since we've got 2 resturants truning over that week I'll wait til Friday night and make up the screen room out back. I'll fill the screenroom with candles and cushions on the ground. Our favorite fur throw and some soft music. Will make up a steak dinner with a strawberry pie (his fav) for dessert. And enjoy each others company.

I dont know what I'm going to get him. I've been squirrelling away part of my fun money every two weeks to save for his bday and Valentines day.
I'll get him something and then Wesley will get him some chocolates or something.
Plus, he'll get a card or two.

I just cook his fav meal and all of us eat by candlelight. I already got the kids a treat, a box each of the conversation hearts(.33 each) and I'll make some heart sugar cookies.

Over a year ago I went to the massage school here (cheap massages!) and they sent me a letter which allows me to get half off on anything I want and also for anyone I bring with me next time I come in. So I'm using it for us to get a couples massage before class on V-Day.

Well Valentine's Day is our 15th Wedding Anniversary! Wow I cant believe how quickly the time went. DH asked me what I wanted and I told him that all I wanted is to go to a special resturant and bring our son along (he is 9).

We usually dont do anything as our wedding anniversary is the 17th of Feb. We dont make a big deal out of that too much either as we usually didnt have money or when the kids were little didnt have a babysitter. We just hang and usually have a conversation that starts something like, Can u believe we have been together since all these yrs
