Frugal Wedding Locations?
I know there are plenty of options for a city wedding but I'm looking for something unique and different if possible. Not sure of the date nor size of wedding yet but was wanting to find a unique place and hopefully somewhat frugal. I've already considered the backyard, a local park and City Hall.
Just wanted to see what others ideas may be out there

I'd be scared to plan an outdoor wedding, what do you do if there's a thunderstorm?

What about a pretty courtyard or botanical garden? Do you have butterfly conservatories in Canada? I know when we used to visit Mackinaw Island in MI, they had lilac festivals and gardens all over the place.

LOL Duck and cover? I think rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck? But then again, I wouldn't know...not married yet!
The butterfly conservatory is a cool idea for sure!I think there's one down in Niagara Falls, Ontario?

Rain is good luck, getting struck by lightening, not so much
. We seem to get a thunderstorm a day here during the summer.
There is definitely a butterfly conservatory in Niagara, but it would be crowded and probably expensive. It's a popular attraction.
Do you want it in Toronto? Here's the link to parks and gardens. http://www.toronto.ca/parks/parks_gardens.htm
What about out on toronto island? Take the ferry over, get married in the park. I think they have formal gardens over there.Last edited by monkeywrangler71; 04-13-2010 at 06:42 PM.

My ds is getting married in the summer next year and his one big thing is NO outside wedding. His finace and her grandmother and I looked at a stie that was a historical house with beautiful grounds. You could not use the inside of the house as it is a museum and small. The grounds were very nice and there were a few different areas that are used for weddings, thank goodness it was hot and muggy that day to put into perspective what the weather will most likely be like in July in Florida. The woman showing us around mentioned people rent tents to have as a backup. That would certainly drive up the affordability factor.
That is too much to have to deal with the rain, the heat.

I used the small chapel at the university I graduated from. As a former student it only cost me $100. It had beautiful grounds, too.
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.
If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.
