Question Most Memorable Thing From Wedding

Was having a discussion with friend last night about weddings...she kept thinking back and calling upon old memories which made her teary eyed lol. There were also things she forgot about until we had that convo.

It got me thinking & wondering:
What is the ONE most memorable thing about your wedding?

The thing I remember the most is ironically not the most pleasant thing:

My MIL was given charge over the key to the rental hall. We were the last two at the hall, along with the guy whose sound equipment we were borrowing for the music. Well, we had reservations at a restaurant and we went to lock up. MIL said, "The key is by the sink", which we assumed meant she had left it in the kitchen, by the sink.

Nope. She had gone into the men's bathroom (why?!) to wash her hands and had left it in the soap dish in the men's bathroom. Literally, walked out of the men's bathroom and left it there (I still don't know if that was an accident or if she thought that was the best place for it).

We hunted frantically all over the hall for it, hoping to find it, and me cursing a blue streak, thinking we were not going to get our deposit back nor were we going to get to our reservations on time.

After nearly 40 minutes, MIL called back and reported that her 8-year-old nephew had seen the key by the sink and realized that it wasn't the safest place for a key to be left, so he hid it behind a toilet in the men's room, so it wouldn't get lost. Praise the wisdom of an 8-year-old! We were able to lock up the hall, get our deposit back and still make our reservations.

Just one thing? Because our wedding was a comedy of errors.

My husband was so nervous he insisted that he hold onto the rings and not the best man. Then in the middle of the ceremony he dropped them... and you could hear them bouncing down the tile steps into the chapel, ding ding ding ding ding...
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown

Because we, the people, have the power to build a better future. KH

Nothing jumps out at me from the wedding/reception. But one of my really good friends was supposed to spend the night with me the night before the wedding and then ride to the church with me in the limo. It was her birthday (the day before the wedding) and so she was out having a good time and didn't spend the night. She did stragle to my place right in time to ride with me.

We were lighting the unity candle and I spilled hot candle wax on my hand resulting in a heart shaped blister.

    Two things:
My EX fiance delivering the flowers

My friend's mom dropping the middle layer of the cake on the way into the church, racing to the grocery to buy a replacement, scraping the icing off the replacement and re-doing it so that we could not tell which layer was destroyed!

There was a quick light misting rain shower and my guests saw a rainbow driving from the church to the reception hall. It was a beautiful fall day.

Everyone that was at my wedding will tell you . . . . the bitter COLD! We broke the records for our area minus 24 degrees, with wind chills of minus 98 degrees. Most cars wouldn't start, blizzard conditions, had to have the road commissioner plow ahead of us, to get us to the interstate (20 miles away) then they closed the interstate, so we never got to go on a honeymoon.

My best friend's dad, later developed Parkinson's, and memory loss. . .shortly before he died, I was visiting him. . .she came in the room and gently tried to remind him, who I was -- he became indignant and informed her knew exactly who I was -- he remember freezing at my wedding!
