Getting Married!
My boyfriend (now fiancee) surprised me a couple of weeks ago by proposing to me with the most beautiful ring. Of course I said yes and now we are planning on a September 23rd wedding (less than 6 months away). We are planning on a small wedding with close friends and family. This is a second wedding for both of us, so we will be paying for this shindig ourselves and we're trying to keep costs down.
After an exhaustive search for venues, we have decided to have our wedding in my parent's backyard. My mom had offered the backyard and I believe is very excited about it. She is already talking about planting some additional flowers to spruce it up. The back yard is very large and can accomodate 75 people easy. All of the other venues we looked at were anywhere from $800 on up to over $2,000...and this was just a space to have the wedding and reception! So, we opted for free and with very few restrictions!
I found a beautiful, yet simple wedding dress online at David's Bridal that will be about $200 with tax, shipping and alterations. I just need to place the order!
Df is very into the wedding planning and it is a relief to not have to plan it all by myself. I'm so excited! I have such a whole new outlook on life these days. I'm a much happier person and everyone sees it!!
I don't have an official budget set up for the wedding, so I will update later on that.
