    Default My son's wedding pictures

My son got married on July second we have been planning this for 16 months and now it over!

    Here are some pictures

The candy buffet was a gift from me. I had a lot of fun doing it and dh did a great job of making the stand. My ds is a Chicago Cubs fan so the grooms cake was a nod to that. On the treat table it had baked goods that I made. Decorated Sugar cookies in the shape of a wedding cake with fondant flowers in the pink and green colors of the wedding. Little mini pies also decorated my ds likes pies. These were in the shape of hearts pink for cherry, green for apple and yellow for lemon. I also made oreo cookie bon bons. and chocolate covered pretzels with decorations on them too. One pic is of my son and daughter, one of the grooms men outside of our house one of the bridesmaids in the limo and one of the bride.

Very nice pics. You did a great job on the candy buffet and desserts. The pies sound delicious.
Sounds like you were quite involved in the details. 2 of mine had the bigger weddings and I wasn't involved in the details. I wasn't asked so I just sat back and enjoyed.

Thanks, it was a lot of fun. My new DIL included me in things like going with her to look at dresses and the taste testing and the florist. Her mother does not live near us so I got to come along with her and her grandmother. My dh and I paid for the candy buffet, the alcohol and bar service, grooms cake and we gave them a party when they got engaged and my dd threw the bridal shower. My ex-dh threw the rehersal dinner (he is an executive chef). the rest was the bride and groom, her grand parents and her parents. I am glad that is all done with now we can maybe save for some small vacation for us.

The centerpieces on the table are beautiful! May I ask what are in the little boxes next to each plate?

Fabulous job on candy buffet - I have not seen that done before.

My son got married a year ago so I know what all goes into that. Just reading all the "festivities" you cited made me have flashbacks to all that. I bet you're tired! I really enjoyed your pictures. It looks like it was a beautiful wedding. Congratulations!

They were Chinese take out boxes for the guests to fill with the candy. There was so much they were filling up everything. It was quite funny as the guests really were like kids in a candy store. It was fun to do. The boxes had a round sticker with the bride and grooms name on them and then topped with a paper flower that we all made.

My DIL was the type of girl that dreamed of her wedding since she was a little girl. She had some great ideas and I just helped her with the crafty side.

Also in the center of the tables were a three sided (triange shaped candle holder made from three picture frames one frame had the table number (not 1-10, but 6.mos- to present) and then the other two had a picture of each of them at that age. with one of those tiny LED candles in the middle. The numbers and the pics were in black and white on velum paper.

The cake stand was a cut piece of glass on top of six or eight glass candle holders upside down with these high powered LED lights in them it was really nice for not alot of money.

They had what she called a heritage table with pictures (all black and white) of married family members immediate family down to great grandparents. She had someone draw this tree with empty branches and they had two colored ink pads so guests could each leave a fingerprint as a leaf and then sign it with well wishes to the bride and groom. It is in a nice frame and everyone liked it alot.

She had quite a bit of time to plan and save for these projects. I don't know what I would have done without JoAnn's and Michaels 40% off coupons!! I am kind of lost now that I don't make those rounds every weekend.

Most of the candy was bought from Sam's club. I did order some things online like the rock candy sticks and M&M's in pink and white with their names and wedding date on them. And picked up some on sale after Easter and Valentines day lucky they were in the right colors.
