Today I got a case each of honeydew melons, canteloupe, lemons, limes, green peppers, and kiwi, plus a large bag of yellow onions (over 10 pounds), 6 heads of cauliflower, half a case of corn on the cob, and some assorted other produce such as one bag of cherries, a box of strawberries, a bag of grapes, a dozen small peaches, etc. A weekend produce stand gives me their leftovers. Sometimes a lot of it is for compost, but this week it was good quality so I will be sharing it with a lot of folks I know.
A neighbor came by and gave us several loaves of whole wheat and rye bread and bagels. Those are past the sell by date, but almost always of high quality.

I gave away most of the produce today, but one lady who picked stuff up brought us a large bag of tomatoes. Another gave me a can of garbanzo beans as she doesn't like them and knew I make hummus. Also the neighbor with all the bread came by today, and I took a box full. I kept a loaf of rye and two organic loaves plus a multigrain, gave the rest away to the last two women who came by for produce.
I saw that another thread was about bartering groups. I seem to have developed my own accidentally!

The other day I went to CVS to get DH some deodorant. Found his favorite kind and was planning to use my extrabucks (I had 3) and some change if it went over. The sticks were on sale - buy 1 get one free, and they were marked down from $3.xx to $2.99. So, I got two sticks of DH's deodorant for $2.99. I used my $3 extrabucks and was ready to pull out some change for tax, but the cashier covered the entire purchase with my extrabucks!
