A packet of envelopes (because I was buying one packet that had a price sticker on and the other didn't and the young person at the till couldn't be bothered to find out the price of the second . . . ).

I got two packages of kikomon seasonings + overage, and free bananas. I earned 21 cents off per gallon from one store and 15 cents per gallon from another.

This week I'll dig through my coupons for all the $1 off and head to dollar tree to see if they have any of the items. Hopefully I'll score some free stuff. Usually can't find the things others have found.

A loaf of bread, a can of tuna, and 2 pounds of bananas.

The bananas were a surprise... the coupon that made the bread free took off $1.99 (regular price) when the bread was only $.99 on sale... so that made the $1 of bananas free... that was a nice change from all the processed stuff I usually end up with.

This month is not so bad so far. I took out a small insurance to supplement our National Health Service free provision and the company sent me a £15 voucher for Marks & Spencer. Given M&S's prices, it's not going to get me much but - free is free.

I needed a padded envelope to send off a CD to a friend in France: got a used one to recycle from the "we don't know what to do with this stuff but it seems too good to throw away" shelf at work.
