What did you get for free Sept '14?
I'll kick this month off as I don't see it yet. Today I got 2 free cans of wet dog food at Walmart from a peelie coupon on the bag of dry food. Saved .88! My pets don't often get wet food, but I like to keep some on hand for a treat, to hide meds. if needed, or to coax someone to eat if they're not feeling well.

Best finds at free center this week- a pair of winter boots for me, not heavy duty, but will work for running kids to school and errands. Looked up the brand (I forget the name now), and new they're $70+. Look barely worn, so score there.
Half box of dryer sheets- I never buy them, but if I find them free, they do double-duty as fabric softener sheets in the dryer and then 'swiffer' type dust clothes once they come out of the dryer. Something I don't buy but am happy to find.

I picked up 2 free yogurts with my double coupons this morning. Not my favorite, but my college student son will appreciate any free food at his apartment.

My neighbor gave me some old barn boards so I am going to use them for shelving in my kitchen, hopefully. If not the boards will be used as shelving in my pantry.
I believe I have received about 3 dozen ears of corn from our friend. He and his father have an abundant garden and are very generous. We have 1 dozen ears frozen to eat later this winter. Us Riley's have also enjoyed some jars of their homemade salsa, way better than the store's or any restaurant.
Another neighbor gave me a heaping armload of tomatoes. That very day I proceeded to make tomato sauce and froze 6 quarts.
I am not sure if this is what you mean by free. Us Riley's will take almost anything anyone offers us.

The Rileys, I am not the originator of this thread, I just started the one for Sept. as I enjoy keeping track of the 'freebies' in my life when I remember to post them- helps me to feel grateful (not that I don't if I don't post!). My impression is it can be anything you got for free- free after using a coupon, given from a friend or neighbor, found by the side of the road- whatever you get that is FREE.
Hit the church-run clothing freebie place a town over to both shop and donate today. Lots leaving our house as I loose this weight and clean out the kids' clothing as the seasons change here! While it was not a food pantry day and I don't utilize food pantries, once again they were giving away, to anyone that wanted them, donations approaching their expiration dates. It appears Trader Joe's is very generous in their donations to the church charity. I got:
-6 packs of tortilla wraps (whole wheat or whole grain)
-2 packs 'fiber' pitas
-1 loaf of Ezekiel (totally excited to try it, have yet to find it in the stores I frequent)
-1 loaf organic white bread
-1 pack 'druid squares' (oatmeal cookies w/ raisins and walnuts)
-1 pack carrot/ginger muffins
-2 packs organic strawberries (I had to carefully choose the best I could find- about 3/4s of them were usable and I've already already cleaned, chopped and put in the freezer for smoothies)
-1 pack gouda (we'll find out what gouda is, finally!)
-2 packs hot pepper cheese of some sort
All Trader Joe's brand except the E bread. I had about 2 brown bags' of food, and there were still MOUNTAINS left. The things I grabbed expire today through 3 or 4 days from now, so we'll eat that cheese fast and I froze the bulk of it for later. One lady kept trying to get me to take more, but I barely fit the bread products in the freezer as it was! Felt kind of funny taking all of it when we're not food insecure, but the volunteers kept assuring me that anything that didn't go today would be tossed as it would be expired by the next food pantry date.
Very good haul of stuff we're happy to have and use, and a very nice surprise. Found a few pieces of clothing for the kids and I.

Got a very nice Harve Benard shirt/jacket at the free clothing room. I am always looking for something that is long sleeve but NOT a pullover, of a certain weight, to put on and take off as the hot flashes hit. And this is much more stylish than what I usually wear, (T shirts, jeans) so I can look more mature hopefully.
Gave them some sheets and a nice shower curtain that I found that someone else was discarding where I live.
