Default National Novel Writing Month 2012

Just wondering if anyone was thinking about doing this years NaNoWriMo. The challenge is to write 50,000 words over the 30 days of November. It can be a novel, collection of short stories, memories, fiction, non fiction and any kind of genre you can think off. It works out to be an average of 1667 words per day. I have completed this challenge 3 times and am looking to get my fourth win this year - you don't actually win anything, the win refers to the fact that you won the challenge.

I've been thinking about it. I need something to get my noveling jump-started. I've won once, six years ago.

What do you like to write? I write suspense but I also have a romance novel I'd like to try to finish.

Oh that song is great Spirit Deer. I normally write the Chic Lit Romance. Last year I wrote something a little risque - but it was a lot of fun. No idea what I will write this year, proberly just the normal kind of girl meets boy thing. I am not really creative and never plan anything a real 'pantser' (write by the seat of your pants). Last year I was writing something for the first week, it was a sequel to my first Nano novel, but I just couldn't get into it, so I scrapped it and started again - fortunitly I was only about 5000 words in. I did have to put in some massive work at the end of the month to make it - a 15000 and a 10000 day say me scrape it in by 100 words 2 days early.

I got my first two Nano done up into books by the Createspace offer that you get when you 'win', they look great. Since I started my whole family have gotten on board and my mum has won two nano's, and my father and brother both have one in the bag each.

Cool! Nobody in my family writes but me. My mom is totally opposed to my writing and my husband thinks I'll land a multi-million dollar book contract any minute now, so I'm in the middle of two extremes, no support and unrealistic expectations.

Shelly, it's a lot of fun to do NaNo. Challenging, but fun.

    I'm a pantzer, too.
