Question Did you ever have a teacher who encouraged you to write

I had a wonderful teacher who was always encouraging her students to write something. Unfortunately few of us took her up on it.

Did you ever have a teacher who encouraged you to write.

Yes, and I still remember her name. Mrs. Stevens was a wonderful teacher. She taught me so much. She would challenge you beyond your limits.

I was fortunate to have three teachers over the years. Two in high school and one when I went back to school as an adult. Oddly enough he now is encouraging my two oldest to write as well.

I'm old school, I was taught by nuns in big brown habits and tall white sail hats. LOL! Those women made a huge impact on my life. They, and my dear mother, taught me that ANYTHING is possible.

When I was about 8 or 9 we had to write an essay for a book prize. Another girl and I were two of the first kids in the class to take our essays to the teacher. She said to write a little bit more and we both did. We won the prizes!
    Her name was Miss Sherwood!

Unfortunately no. We were made to keep written journals in Middle school, but those English teachers were pretty boring and very strict. They actually chose what we HAD to write about. I am a much better writer now and I enjoy it only because I got better with my reading skills on my own. I really never learned to write well until after I got out of college and really started reading material that interested me. I was then able to find ways to incoorporate that type of writing style into my own and actually learn from it.
