The History of 'APRONS'
I don't think our kids
know what an apron is.
The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress
underneath because she only had a few. It was also because it
was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons used less
material. But along with...
Sur La Table is selling these aprons for adult $40 and child $27.
I am sure they would be easy to make, plus with extra fabric chef hats for the men in your life.

Friday I made a full bib apron and yesterday a half apron. Both aprons were from material given to me. One is a pillowcase I recycled into an apron. The other was straight yardage from a friend who was moving. I'm feeling pretty motivated! I have a few older pillowcases without and with...
I have been looking high and low for a pattern for a childs apron to make for my nephew for Christmas. The patterns I have found are frilly. He is not a frilly little boy
Does anyone know of a pattern online or the number of one I can purchase?
I was just curious to find out who actually here at the village wears an Apron while they cook or bake? I was thinking about going out and buying one so that I don't wreck my clothes in any way shape or form. I consider cooking and baking one of my hobbies other than working out LOL.
It was either The Blue and The Gray or Gettysburg. Does anyone know how to make the apron that the black girl was wearing. It was an apron that the straps criss-crossed in the back with no ties of anykind. It was just sewn to the back. I was wanting to make this type of apron but as of yet have...

I wear mine all the time when I'm baking or making a meal, or when I'm washing dishes. Otherwise it comes off.
Ok I need some ideas. I want to make a cobbler apron to use at the preschool to help keep my clothes clean and provide pockets to hold things (tissues, pen/marker, etc) since my maternity clothes don't have any. :(
I found these online that I could buy, but I would rather use my own fabric and...

While I was visiting mrsengeseth she helped me sew up an apron I had started. :) This is not the best picture as I didn't have a model to put it on (well full size one anyway lol) so I just hung it on the door and tried to spread it out to show.
Anyway, I am pleased with it. Missy is a great...
BIB: tie an apron around your youngster's neck for an instant bib.
LADDER TOOL POCKET: an efficient way to hold your tools while working on a ladder is to tack or staple a carpenter's apron to the top step.
Arpon making is fun until.....
You make a HUGE mistake. I'm making Heather's (Calico) apron and its a new pattern. I was doing really well, got it all sewed, including 2 miles :toothy: of ruffle and went to press my very pretty ruffle and realized I had put the whole 2 miles :toothy: on...
