I went to get a snack and relax with a computer game for 45 minutes until DH gets home, and the entire bag of ruffles is gone. DH admits he ate them. It's not the first time. He has his own snacks. He has diabetes and cholesterol problems and a history of heart problems in the family...

Darn it, I should have picked it sooner. Serves me right. There are several green ones on the plant, I'll try and pick them as soon as they turn pink.

While we were at the burial today, Bella decided to have a party without us. She managed to open the door to one of the cupboards and pulled out the baking supplies. She ripped open a bag of coconut and flung it around like confetti. She pulled all sorts of stuff out fo the cupboard and worst...

I have been enjoying a purely vegetarian diet since March. I haven't missed meat one littel bit. Now I know why! A few weeks ago, a friend came to visit from the Midwest. In an effort to show her "all things California", we took her to In&Out Burger. It's a quintessential CA burger joint...

Yesterday my daughter brought home a plant she received as a gift - I believe it's a dieffenbachia. My cat apparently chewed on it and I believe ate some of it. I didn't catch her at it; only found the chewed on plant and part of a leaf. She seemed to be fine last night. Fed her this morning...

Earlier today my grandson mentioned my favorite sub shop and my mouth was watering all day long after that. Their subs are like none other. When I found out that no one was going to be home but the grandkids and me, I convinced myself that eating dinner out would be ok. I decided that I...

My grocery bill is simply spiralling out of control --- I spent $75 today and I did not get everything I needed so I have to go back tomorrow, for crying out loud. I started doing Weight Watchers about a month ago, which is just spectacular for my health, but not so great for my wallet. I am...

Yes REALLY!!! LOL, Ya'all can call me a REAL country girl now! We went to a game roast yesterday and all I can say is YUM, THOSE GUYS CAN COOK!! We had smoked goose, elk steak, caribou kabobs, dove breast wrapped in bacon, frogs legs (yes, they taste like chicken) and even SQUIRREL!!! (AKA...

I've gone 1 1/2 weeks without eating out. After awhile, it doesn't even seem appealing. Eating 'expensive food' at home (like $3.20 Tyson SS Chicken per meal) is still cheaper than eating out - not to mention saved gas money

I've always been careful to feed them healthy food. But usually when I cook down a chicken carcas for soup, I toss the skeleton. I guess because you always hear not to give chicken bones to dogs, because they tend to splinter. I didn't know how the ducks would do with it. Well, yesterday, i got...

A :carrot: from the garden! :D Dh couldn't stand it anymore and insisted we pull one. LOL The first ones really need a week or so more to go, but it was delicious nonetheless.

I feel like such a bad mommy... :shame: I put her down on the floor for about two minutes while I finished up something and in that time she managed to find some cat puke on the floor and taste it. :yikes: I am so grossed out that I want to :puke: myself! I don't think it will hurt her any...

Considering the summer we had, I was able to stretch our potatoes from the garden until tonight. We ate the last of them. This summer, I plan on planting way more because they don't take a lot of work and keep for a long time. Glad I planted as many as I did.
