    my ex boss gave me some stainless fine mesh soooo i made screens for all my dehydrators.its heat resistant and fine enough to be able to make fruit leather with it

    While I lurk on the dehydrating threads, I don't dehydrate, I don't have the equipment and truth be told, the nature of my work schedule vs. my DH's work schedule means he does most of the shopping and cooking (and he's a far better cook!). A dear friend is stationed in Afghanistan this year...

    I am looking into buying a small food dehydrator. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the features I should look for. Also I understand that you can make tortilla chips,cookies, etc in one, has anyone tried this and if so has it worked well? Thank you in advance for any advice!
