I'm getting ready to dig back in to the hobby after 15 years with my stuff in boxes.
Been cruising web sites looking at supplies... OMG! I can't believe the price hikes. House shingles I paid $1.75 for are now $5.99! That's more than tripled!
I was just reading the other thread about getting rid of cable and running everything through the computer and well I want to do this soooo bad but I'm def clueless!!!!!
What are our options in Canada or more specifically Onatrio????
Three months ago I left my husband. An awesome provider, a good dad, a super grandpa... but a “not so good” husband. We have gotten along better this past month than we have since before we married. The divorce has been filed and it's time to move on.
I've been a member of frugal village...
I just picked son up from work, and he said that he's waited on a lot of drunk people today. Since they opened at 9 am!! I guess a lot are celebrating the New Year early :smhelp:
I'm nervous, DH is out delivering pizza tonight till 10:30.
A colleague sent this to me yesterday and I laughed so hard I fell off my chair (literally, I hit my head on the back of the chair). I think married folks will find it especially funny.

I would love to make this! I live in the deep south and I'm not sure if cheese curds are readily available... Can I use cottage cheese for this or is there something else I can use? Who loves poutine? Who hates it? I would love to know!
I know someone posted on here recently a post about relationships and debt and hiding debt, etc. I guess I wanted to share my story and a lesson I guess you could say. I used to come on FV a lot but drfited away and am now getting into being frugal again. I am gonna kinda ramble but anyway..
I was reading the latest issue of Bacwoods Home and they have several articles on cheap eating. Their idea of cheap was $6.50 a plate and $200.00 per person! Thought about writing their editor and calling them a bunch of pansies but.......... I'll be nice. Thought you folks who've been doing...
Ergh. SO very glad that's over. There will be cleanup for ages and we still don't have any power where we are, but hopefully soon.
My office has power, so they forced us to come in to work, even though there's nothing to do yet, as the Port of Houston is still closed.

How to get rid of your folks' stuff
It's natural to be overwhelmed by emotion and your parents' lifetime accumulation of things. Use these ideas to save time, your sanity and your family relationships.
have little counters and goals in their signature's or below their posts and was wondering how I go about doing that? I would love to have somewhere to keep track of my goals. So if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm off to see the accountant on Monday...I don't usually wait this late and am a teensy bit stressed over it. I've decided that tomorrow I'll finish up my search of little things and have all things bundled up and ready to go on Monday. Anyone else a last minute Lisa on this ? :toilet:
Private nurses for common folks
You may think of private nurses as a luxury for the ultra-rich, like a butler or personal chauffeur. But hiring in-house medical care has become an increasingly viable option for regular folks too.
I found a mini van advertised locally and decided to take a look at it. It was a '98 Dodge Caravan. It was in pretty good shape, needed about a $150 detail clean performed, but otherwise in good condition. The girl selling it wanted only $2,198 for it, she said that was the pay off on it. We...
My disclaimer up front:
This is a CHRISTMAS song, not a holilday song....so please don't be offended if you take issue with that. That is not my intention at all. I heard this the other day and then I found it on You Tube. It is a very amazing, very Christian, very Christmas song. If that...
