Anyone have any weird habits that they do? Anyone have a habit that you never see anyone else do? My weird habit (one of them at least) is I peel labels off of EVERYTHING. Soda/water, lotion, beer, deodorant or any other bottles, fruit and veggie cans, stickers that are on anything. I've done...

Name one bad habit you have that you wish you didn't have or wouldn't have started knowing what you know now. For me, it's smoking. I have smoked since I was 17 and although I did manage to quit once for over 2 years, I am still smoking now. I enjoy smoking, even though it's expensive ($59.00...

Hi folks. I have a problem spending money.if I have it ,I spend it.I cannot get a handle on it and will feel guilt the moment I walk out of a store.I tell myself that I'm being frugal when i get things on sale, or at a thrift shop, but i find myself in these places several times a week, or have...

It is an accepted part of self-help wisdom that it takes twenty-one days to develop a new habit and make it stick. This has been found to be true in weight loss, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol consumption, and many other regimens designed to create positive habits. It can also be applied to...

I'm fairly intellegent and I have mostly got control of my money, but I honestly can't seem to break that mindset that I want something now so whip out the cc. I don't carry a balance and haven't for years, but I do tend to put myself in a bind some months by using the cards a bit to often. I...

I've recently started a new job where I am making double (DOUBLE!!!) what I made in my previous job, however, i've seemed to justify that I can spend money on myself now, but really I shouldn't because I've got student loans that need to be paid. So how do you suggest I curb that spending habit...

I was wondering about this just the other day. For me, in most cases it's just a habit now. I still have to work on some things but I'm almost always in the "watching my p's and q's" mindset. I naturally backslide at times, don't mean to ever sound like I'm the perfect, frugal example b/c I'm...

I know we have discussed a similar topic before, but I think it is worthy of bringing this up again. I was pondering this last night and think it is an important subject not only for frugality's sake, but also, environmentally. So, how much of your consumables (things that get "used up")...

  12. Baking Breads
I just have to confess this. We make our coffee from whole beans using a grinder. I also use the grinder for flax seeds, but it leaves an oily residue on the grinder, so I clean it with rice. BUT - I save that rice flour and put it in the next batch of bread I bake! :toothy:

or maybe an addiction? I think it might just be, each time i get a minute to do something like put something away or clean up the counter, i look at items around my project and tend to do a mini toss right then and there. Just a minute ago, i had a stack of books to put away. I did that, got...

Confess: What is one thing you started doing out of absolute need, but can't seem to get out of the habit of doing now? I realized a few years ago that I was spending nearly $2 a pair on knee highs that many times I only got 2 wears from. I found Walgreens has sales every 6-8 weeks on their...
