I can't believe she's 13! She is currently in Newport RI with her friend and her friend's family (for the weekend). It feels strange not having her here, but it's her birthday, and that's what she wanted to do. :)
We are going to paint her room and install the bed canopy that she asked for (as...
...she looks great. I wish they were this simple when I had them. I think they're hardly noticeable compared to when I had them.
And yes, my budget for this sort of cost was out of wack. Had to use the CC...word to the wise: keep up to date on your medical insurance policy's details. Dave's...
Kathryn is 12 (!!!) today! :bdaypty:
Yes, the poor kid is sick on her birthday. They sent her home yesterday with a fever of 101.7º, chills, and a cough. Said she couldn't come back until next Friday or until producing a negative flu test. So today I took her to the Dr., and the good news is...
Kathryn!! I heard today was your birthday!
You AREN'T going to believe this!!!
I looked out my window... and there it was!
Your BIRTHDAY balloon! Floating around MASSACHUSETTS!!
I was wondering who it was for... now I know!!
I hope you saw it!! Did you see it!

I cut another one out today out of a fabric that Lauren loves. I think this size fits her better.
She brought home her 4th project assignment of the year today. She needs to build a three-dimensional model of the solar system. It has to be "as realistic as possible when choosing color and size in the scaled down model". It needs to include the sun, the 9 named planets, Earth's moon, and the...
What an experience we had today.
Last Thursday Kathryn stepped on a piece of glass, and Dave & I thought we got all of it out. It wasn't easy.
Fast forward to last night. Kathryn starts complaining about pain there, and it's a little lump. She said she couldn't walk on it.
I called the doctor...
Kathryn made the all-A's honor roll! She also received an award for outstanding reading ability. She also took "most friendly" and "most caring" in the superlatives.
I am so proud I could burst! :yippee:
Here's my 2nd grader. Yes, she insisted on wearing her Patriots shirt since I didn't finish the frog one that I'm sewing for her.
I hope she's still smiling that big when she comes home.
We miss her :(
