    Here are three I made yesterday. The stones are from the beach in Cape May, the middle one is red jewel stones you get from the craft store and the third is potpourri with small Christmas balls mixed in (my mom's idea).

    We love using candles for our meals during the long winter months. It has become a tradition in our home and once it begins to get dark in the evenings, the kids begin asking for candlelight suppers. Last night we used the oil lamp instead. What fun we had has the kids made shadow animals...

    What type of lid can be used on the jar? Can it be plastic (like on a mayo jar) or can I use the 2 piece canning top? Do I have to glue the 2 pieces together? Can the lid be painted? Do you have to pre-treat it with a solution so the paint sticks? TIA
