The family and I went to visit my inlaws for Thanksgiving and came back with one desire:
to buy a house.
Every single time we go to visit, the kids cry and cry their eyes out on our way back. They never ever want to leave. They love it here in Calgary but only because we have a house here. DS6...
The author of my daughter's current favorite book was in town (to sign books). She met her favorite author and was so star struck she could hardly talk.
When Little Miss ( age 8) found out the author was in town she grabbed her worn out copy and we headed down to get an autograph. Then it was...
This was so great!!!
DanaB and I have corresponded on FV regarding homeschooling. Turns out she just moved about 10 miles from me, has kids the same ages, and last night she came to our HS Moms' meeting!!!
HOW COOL IS THAT???!!!
Any of you met a FV friend in person?
or do you know any fellow Villagers? forHISglory's post about helping cmdarlin got me to wondering. As far as I know I don't know anyone here personally, but would love to find out another member lived very near me.
Okay, maybe a 16 days late, but I am still really proud of all the effort we put into it! And need an outlet to "shout" about it. We had to pay for a birth and the downpayment for a surprise "new" (or to us) vehicle and we still managed to meet our goal albeit a bit belated.
We had $82,288...
June was our month to finally buckle down on our utilities.
Our bill from April-May:
Electricity ............................... (GST: $3.65) .... $ 73.24
Natural Gas ............................ (GST: $3.40) .... $ 68.00
to talk about mutual funds and other investments. We were a little hesitant but Gripey found him and contacted him via email. We were very pleased. The first thing he did was show us the Ramsey baby steps and talk a minute about that and then he showed us the fees that are charged on funds and...

it's really nice to get excited...
Last year I set a goal that I would have my credit card paid down far enough to where I could pay it off with this year's tax return. I met my goal. I made huge payments every month, it was really difficult, but I don't feel very satisfied. I met my goal, shouldn't I be happy about that?
Seems we all find/make new freinds on line sometimes easier than in real life. Have you met anyone you met online?
About 9 years ago I met a gal online in a quilting forum I was on. We started chatting and really seemed to be on the same wave length, even though our lives were entirely...
and compared power and taxes with her. I was shocked. She lives in a 962 sq. ft. home. Ours is 1475 sq. ft. We live on the same block. She has 2 people living in her home. We have 3 people in ours.
Her taxes are 2/3 of ours. Her utilities are the same or more! I laughingly said, "You...
I got to meet frugalfriend! We went to the museum, where the kiddos got to do a scavenger hunt, and later to the park to let the kiddos play. It was great fun!!
The kids are just now rousting from their exhausted naps. Aiden's little legs were worn right out!! Hee hee.
I gotta tell everyone...
I got to yesterday, how cool! Laurie in Brandenton was up our way yesterday and stopped in, we had the BEST TIME! She was on a road trip from FL to Ohio to bring some stuff to a friend, man she and her hubby fly on the roads and made it here in no time! They got a quick farm tour and of...

One of my goals this year was to learn how to sell on ebay, I haven't sold anything yet, but I do have somethings listed as of today!!!! I am so proud of myself, and I hope that I did it correctly. Wish me luck, goal accomplished!!!!
Today, at the library knitting class for kids, one woman showed up with a partially-completed afghan. "I got it at the thrift shop," she said. I admired it. Later, she showed us her interchangable needle kit that she had bought on ebay.
I said, "A-HA! Another bargain hunter!" (implying...
Not physically in this instance but personality wise I have. I've known a young lady for many years but not well. During the duration of the trips to see my dear nephew since his accident I've had the distinct pleasure of getting to know her much better now. I'm amazed at the parallels in our...
I just met Hollyhill at the library! Oh, she was so sweet she brought a bag of books for my 3 year old. It was fun to meet someone from the village. She lives very close to me.
We chatted in the library for a while and then went for juice & coffee downstairs. It was very nice.
I know you all will probably have much more dramatic or fascinating lists than I - and I am sure there are many more people than I can think of tolist. Some of the people I would have like to have met or meet some day or have seen perform live include:
