and found little white worms in it!!! yuck! the thing is that i had made the pot of soup already and was having a bowl and saw all these little white things and thought, i didnt cut the garlic like that, then upon closer view, it was worms!!! yuck. i had eaten some already...am i going to get...

My daughter and I both love them . I found a bag of dried chick peas at walmart the other day and I was quite pleased. I soaked and cooked them yesterday but I dont think we will eat all these before they go bad. Can I freeze some of them? Thank you in advance for your help!

I have heard that legumes are good for the soil. I was thinking of maybe tilling my pea vines into the bed real well. We have a 6 inch raised bed and we are doubling the height and will be adding a bunch of dirt, so we could cover the vines and work it in really well. Is that a good idea?

i did not soak the beans. put two bags of washed, sorted dried split peas, 1/2 pound raw oscar meyer bacon, large quantity of garlic powder. crockpot left to cook on low overnight.

I have some ham broth and meat from boiling a ham bone, and some dried split peas (green) that I've had for a long time, so I thought I would make some pea soup tomorrow. But I haven't made it for years. What do you wonderful cooks out there season it with? Any add ins you like?
