As a SHAM
If I am at parent teacher conferences with all the other working moms and dads and my phone rings ( on vibrate of course) and realize that it is the repair man finally returning my call.
Do I get to excuse myself saying "It is work I have to take this"

We have had U.S. Cellular for 8 years and for the majority of that time we have had a military discount of 10% on the account.
My husband was recently in having his phone swapped out and the sales rep informed him that because of who our employer is, we are eligible for a 20% discount instead...
I cancelled our home phone a while back and just kept the Centurytel dsl internet. WOW did they argue with me! The bill went from 98.13 to 37.98 and we are locked into he dsl for a year. The guy kept stressing if I cancelled early it was $200 and I should keep my phone! I laughed and told him...
My DD is 19 now and we carry her on our cell phone plan. This month she can upgrade her phone and needs too, as her phone is old and is a piece of crap. No problem. The problem is that AT&T has you sign a 2 year contract. She has faithfully payed us 20 bucks towards her phone for about a year...

How do you save on these?
I am currently paying $99 mo for phone, internet & cable but the promotion is ending 12/31. I will get rid of cable and keep internet, but will still need a home phone. I am also terminating DH's cell contract at $80 mo (gave up my cell phone months ago) - so I would...
Anyone use this? Do you like it? Have any problems? Sooner or later I think we will have to succumb to 'progress' and get a mobile phone and I like the 'no frills' and 'no contract' approach they are offering.

I hate going back on a contract but we can't afford our phones, and we use less than 2% of the minutes we're given! We're on the lowest family plan available (2 phones), and we pay $120/mo. Not a whole lot compared to some plans but we just can't afford it anymore.
What can I do? I called and...
