I have about 20 leggy seedlings, all with 3-4 leaves. Are they goners or should I plant them to see if they will grow? This was my first attempt to start seeds. Any advice would be great! ( I started earlier than suggested to weed out the mistakes so I can do it better come Aug/sept when these...

~This is the first year I've started seeds indoors. I used those expandable peat pellets. Well they're all up and hitting against the plastic dome of the starting box. I think I should be re-potting them in larger containers now using regular potting soil? Do I need to keep them covered still? ~

  9. Question and Answer
You guys have convinced me to try starting some flowers from seed, in order to sell them at my yard sale. There have been some great suggestions for containers on here and I'm busy sorting through them to find the one that will work for me. I haven't seen any postings on the best medium to use...

I would. But I admit it's hard. I remember one garden author that I read said if you weren't losing a few seedlings to the first frosts, you weren't planting early enough (or starting enough seedlings for a second go round). He was making money selling produce out of his garden so earlier was...

My little seedlings are doing great this year. I usually have mixed results with seed-starting, probably in part due to having them in a spot where I don't remember to constantly tend to them. This year I put them in a spot where it is impossible to miss them, and I also have set up a...

:dancing: The seeds I just planted in the last flat are germinating faster than the others from the week before, but that's ok. I had planted some in red plastic solo cups, so today I went out and put some plastic wrap on the cups to encourage them a bit. I wish it would get warm here. I have...
