All the recipes I have for cooking acorn squash require oven baking. I am trying to cut back on using the oven. I just wondered if any one has successfully cooked acorn squash or any thick skinned squash in the microwave?
Everytime I try to grow any summer squash I get squash bug and if I could keep ahead of them they would come from the neighbors gardens... I am now the only garden for a block and it has been 2 years so I am willing to try again hoping the population of potential problems is smaller

I baked my butternut squashes last night for soup, but I didn't bake them long enough. I tried making the soup anyway, but now it's got a grainy texture, because the sqaush wouldn't break up into smaller pieces. Any ideas on how to salvage my soup?
