Well my specialist has decided not to wait for my major surgery. Most of you know i have had medical issues for awhile. Just recently found out i have a rare genetic disorder. If i don't get this done, within a few years i will develop pacreatic cancer. So the surgery is a major life changing...

Has anyone seen Blythe Danner lately? She doesn't even look like herself. All of the life and loveliness in her aging face is gone. Everything that made her HER. Why can't these women see how beautiful they look with all of the happiness and sorrows of a life well lived...on their aging...

Update to my abnormal mammogram thread... I'm having a double mastectomy Tuesday. I won't be able to use my hands for awhile, so I'm saying so long now. I'll come back when I'm able. Thanks to everyone for all the support you have given me on this horrible journey. Teresa

A few days ago I noticed a painful swelling on my left side. Sometimes it hurt nonstop, sometimes just when I touched it. I couldn't lay on my belly and my pants put enough pressure on it to make them uncomfortable. I already had an appointment for Tuesday with my doctor, so I let it ride till...

I've decided to finally do what my mother never did for me, and what I neglected the last 15 years to do for myself: Have my jaw realigned and my teeth braced. I'm having troubles with my mouth as of late and after doing some thinking, I've decided to foot the bill for the surgery. DH's...

We've been to the big city (LOL) and DH had his cancer surgery (prostate) on the 6th. We had to stay in the city for 12 days...the doc doesn't want his patients doing follow up or problem-solving in abnother town from other docs. They had on-site guest housing, so we stayed there (frugal...

well. I was awake for it all. They used a bundle block on me. It made my arm asked like Harry Potters when he lost the bone in his arm. Just flopping around ,looked so funny. They told me it would last 24 hours by 9:30pm I had control back and I could feel it all. I feel great and I'll be going...

Hi everyone. My surgery went very well. I saw my doctor yesterday and he released me so I can go back to a normal routine. I still can't smell anything but my doctor said it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months for that to happen. If it doesn't I guess I'll just be happy to be breathing...

Yeah, it's over. Many thanks for all the kind wishes you've sent my way. The surgery was done in a regular operating room so I had the gown, cap and everything. Local anesthesia meant I was awake the whole time and it was kind of neat/weird to be able to see & hear everything that goes on. ZZ...

I've been having foot problems for a year and have stopped my daily walking because of it. Being stubborn and hoping that it would miraculously fix itself I've ignored the problem. Well I had my yearly check up at the docs and he sent me to a podiatrist who x rayed my foot so we could really see...

I am having 2 surgeries on Monday. Finally getting my gall bladder removed and my tubes ties. I am so excited, hopefully no more stomach pain and 5 boys is definetly enough. Talk about frugal, 2 for the price of one, mostly.

His braces came off about two weeks ago and they had told us previously that all four of his wisdom teeth would need to come out. They were laying sideways under his gums and whenever they were to come out, they would have pushed his other teeth forward...again! That is what I already paid to...

It went well, I guess. She reconstructed my sinuses and un-deviated my septum. :toothy: It hurts, but I'm doing well and am looking forward to no more sinus infections post recovery! :)

Realized that I feel out of the loop and was needing/wanting more information on how IntMom is doing after her surgery. How are you doing? Was it worth it? What's your prognosis?
