Bwahahahaha ... * thunder cracking off in the distance * I have decided to experiment with food combinations to create 100 calorie snack, meal or just something to satisfy that crazy hankering for SOMETHING. Would anyone else like to join me in the this mad experiment ? Bwahaha * rubs my hands together *

Okay ... seriously though I find myself working my 8 hour ( plus 1 hour lunch ) with out eating anything NOT GOOD!! All the while drinking soda .. * cringes * We all know not eating is not good. Lets take inspiration from those handy ( yet expensive ) 100 calorie packets and grab up our snack bags and come up with some yummy almost 100 calorie combinations.

Dried fruit and nuts works for me. I make up snack bags for work. I also do snack bags with those Wasabi Peas, which I LOVE. I HAVE to measure them or I'll eat the entire bag!

So far I have found that 1 cup of soda is about 100 calories .. there is an ice machine that does crushed ice at work so there is an 100 calorie satisfier ( MUST HAVE CAFFINE *lol*)

30 dark chocolate M&M's are 100 calories

Tomorrow I am taking to work:
A soda 12 fl oz -140cal

Mock McD's Fruit and Walnut salad
I am bad I tend not to eat lunch at work .... but I had been taking a Fruit and Walnut Salad ( $1.79) .. which I normally put the walnuts into the yogart and dip the apples *lol*

1 small Red Delicious Apple ( sliced and tossed with a little lemon juice so they do not turn brown) -58 cal
4 red grapes - 4 cal per grape -12 cal
2Tbsp Vanilla Greek Yogart ( with a drizzle of honey ) 160 cal per 1 cup- 20 cal
4-5 glazed walnuts (very rough chopped)- 140cal per 1/4 cup - 35 cal
________________________________
133 Calories ( note: McD's salad is 210 calories/ And I could have cut out the nuts and the balance would have been 98 Calories)

Veggies and Dip
9 ( 3 oz) baby carrots 35 cal
2 Celery sticks ( cut to length of baby carrots and in half length wise making 12 mini sticks) 15 cal
1/4 medium green pepper ( cut into strips ) whole green pepper 24 cal- 6 calories
2 Tbsp Ranch Dip ( Ranch Seasoning Mix and Sour Cream ) 60 Cal

116 Calories
======================================================================= Grand Total of 389 Calories

Just as a note Ranch Dressing has 160 calories per 2Tbsp:yikes: ..I about died ... However using the Ranch Seasoning Mix and your sour cream you come up with pretty much how many calories are in your sour cream. To use as dressing thin down with milk or buttermilk to desired texture ( and probubly add a liiiiittle more mix I would think ).

Curtis Stone Biggest Loser raspberry cupcake recipe- 100 calories

Vanilla Cupcakes

Makes about 14 cupcakes

Ingredients

5 organic egg whites
Pinch of salt
3 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
½ cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
For the raspberry frosting

1 cup nonfat cream cheese, at room temp
1 cup fresh raspberries
Fresh raspberries to garnish
Method

Preheat the oven to 325F.
Place the egg whites in a large bowl and using a handheld mixer whip the whites on medium speed for 3 to 4 minutes or until the whites begin to lighten up and hold their shape.
Increase speed to high and whip in the salt and honey until the whites hold a soft peak, then add the vanilla extract.
Fold in the yogurt.
In a separate medium mixing bowl combine the flour and baking powder and mix well.
Sift the dry ingredients into the egg whites a little at a time, gently folding them in with a rubber spatula.
Once fully incorporated, scoop the batter into cupcake tins lined with cupcake papers.
Bake the cupcakes for 15 to 20 minutes or until they have colored and gently spring back when pushed with a finger.
Remove from the oven and cool the cupcakes at room temp.
While the cupcakes are baking, puree the raspberries in a blender until smooth.
Pass through a fine mesh strainer into a small saucepot and cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until the puree reduces slightly.
Cool completely.
Place the cream cheese into a medium mixing bowl and fold the puree into the cream cheese until fully mixed.
Once cupcakes are cool, spread a little of the berry frosting over the cupcakes, garnish each with one raspberry and serve.

Ranch powder or Mrs. Dash mixed w/ cottage cheese or plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream for dipping veggies will add a bit more protein to your snack.

Portioned out veggies w/ hummus

A 1cup portion of frozen peaches (50cals) with a teaspoon of sugar (15cal)/stevia (0cal)/splenda (0cal). By the time you're ready to eat them they have slightly melted & made a bit of syrup. Add a 1/2cup of vanilla greek yogurt (55cal)

A Turkey pepperoni stixx (50cal) & a string cheese (60-70cals)
