That's going to be a tough decision! Dh and I aren't really agreeing on a color so far and we need to! The house is brown with brick and I would love to go lighter!Good thinking calimom!! What colors are you thinking of using?
I wish I could take credit but it is a Dave Ramsey line. (His quotes tend to be used often in our home. lol)Ceashells - I love your wording and idea ...."At least it will not be a vacation that follows us home." Great downchunking to be ready for your vacation too!!
baby fund is one of my sinking funds. We just started a baby fund. It's in a separate account then my misc. fund. Should I add that here as well?
We have always taken out tax returns and paid off debt with about 3/4 of it and save the other 1/4. We see it as extra money and a great time to get ahead. Without our tax returns, we would still be in a lot of debt and have virtually no savings. I think it is a wonderful idea to save at least 1/2 of your tax return. You will be thankful later. Trust me!!most years we spend our tax return. Wonder how much convincing it would take for me to get DH to save all/most of it......
In the past we have done the same thing. This year we THANKFULLY don't have any debt. DH wants a TV (wanted at Christmas and I said no). We have money saved for this, though. I hope getting him the tv is good enough and we can save the rest (esp. since one of my sinking/planning funds is a baby fund!)We have always taken out tax returns and paid off debt with about 3/4 of it and save the other 1/4.
