Ok, I'll start us off again for tomorrow.

Quick update - I saw my internist today and we agreed on the new Atkins diet. The newer version has a lot more room for veggies than the old. She likes low carb, which will help. She adjusted my diabetes meds, and gave me guidelines for further reducing them if necessary, leaving me to make the call myself without another office visit. I LOVE my doctor!

I also found some inexpensive diet software that after playing around with the trial download, I am going to get. It's much simpler and just as helpful as any other I've ever seen and played with. So I'll doing the setup for that and starting building some menus.

Saturday:
1. General apartment pickup (keep one room ahead of my friend who is cleaning it!)
2. Put away clean dishes
3. Pack up first load of stockpile to send with friend (sigh - bye bye $$$)
4. Figure out meals for Saturday and Sunday
5. Pack snack and supper for work
6. One day's menu on computer
7. Pick up prescription
8. After work - pack snack and meal for Sunday
9. Buy full software package
10. Work - finish edits for ILL billing
11. Charge camera battery
12. Charge Kindle

That's a start!

SD - Man, am I glad I don't have your list! I would look at it and just crawl back in bed and pull the covers over my head. Good luck!

Well, things didn't go as planned, but that's okay.

Saturday's list:
[-]1. Buy lumber for new steps.
2. Buy garden soil.
3. Buy groceries.
4. Buy pulleys for clothes airer.[/-]
5. Tend AGs.
6. Medicate dog.
7. Remove old steps.
8. Install new step stringers.
9. Install stair treads.
10. Clean grill.
11. Clean potato bin.
12. Load truck for tomorrow.

We got our new bleeding heart bush and my husband discovered the local nursery has pear trees. He's intrigued, so now we're trying to figure out where to put two pear trees, a cherry tree, and another apple tree. It could get interesting.

Things took longer in town than they should have, then we couldn't get the old screws out of the steps, so after fighting with that for quite a while, we got out the reciprocating saw and taught them who's boss. Then I discovered I bought the wrong stringers for the new steps. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS! So I had to take some time to figure out how to make do with the ones I bought, and use some other materials we have on hand so it all doesn't look like it was designed by monkeys on crack. I think it'll look nice when it's done, but we just didn't get as far as we thought we would. Good thing we have two other sets of steps to get into our house.

Sunday's list:

1. Clean grill.
2. Tend AGs.
3. Load truck.
4. Clean potato bin.
5. Wrap Mom's gift.
6. Get bottom step box leveled.
7. Install stair stringers.
8. Install stair treads.
9. Make seven-layer salad.
10. Cook fatty on grill.

The steps are iffy, but we have to work on them whenever we can, so they're going on the list.

Success - for the moment blood glucose is right on target! Now to keep it there. This diet is definitely working, so I guess it's worth the hassle.

Rain yesterday, coupled with me tearing up my back again, Mother's Day interfering, and a sleepless Saturday night really threw a wrench into the works. Oh, well.

Sunday's list:

1. Clean grill.
[-]2. Tend AGs.
3. Load truck.[/-]
[-]4. Clean potato bin.
5. Wrap Mom's gift.[/-]
6. Get bottom step box leveled.
7. Install stair stringers.
8. Install stair treads.
9. Make seven-layer salad.
10. Cook fatty on grill.

Since it rained, I made barbecued ribs in the oven and since my back hurt so badly, I bought coleslaw instead of making the salad. I did make a really good bean and wild rice salad though.

On to Monday's list:

1. Dump some dirt into new perennial bed.
2. Sew something.
3. Tend AGs.
4. Spray mushrooms, which I think are just about done producing.
5. Measure to make sure perennial bed is in the right place. Duh.
6. Read thirty pages.
7. Look over South Beach Diet books.
8. Cut boards for clothes airer.

I only dumped two bags of dirt and decided that wasn't a good idea. They're supposed to be forty pound bags which isn't bad, but they weigh a lot more than that because they've been outside at the nursery and sucked up a bunch of the rain we had lately. My back told me I better give it another day off before getting back into doing the heavy stuff. The nice thing is I only dumped two bags and it now looks like the whole bed will most likely take the 6-7 bags I had estimated. I had run and re-run the numbers and that just didn't seem like enough. We bought twelve or fourteen bags and some extras of potting soil and tree soil at Ace Hardware, which came with hefty rebates, so I'm hoping we'll have enough dirt for all our garden projects this year. That would be great! Because it would mean those projects would end up costing a lot less than we had anticipated. Sure am glad we went for the high-end dirt though. It should help us be successful.

Got the clothes airer frame cut and assembled, but one of the boards is so warped I may replace it. OTOH, it may look a bit wonky but would work just fine, and I'm in favor of using up stuff I have. Plus if I put in a different board, it's likely to warp anyway. If I don't use it for this project, then it'll probably go to waste because the next project might be more particular. So I'm contemplating. I hate stuff that looks bad, but I think it would only look bad when it was actually in use. When it's pulled up to the rafters, it would probably look fine. So I'd only have to please myself and my husband because it'll be in the rafters when guests are here. My husband won't care so all that's left is to decide if I would or not. I hate re-dos, so I'm inclined to call it good enough.

The perennial bed is in the right place, so at least I don't have to move those heavy bricks again. ~whew~ They weighed extra due to being very wet, too.

The kitchen looked like downtown Baghdad so I cleaned that up. Much better now. I had to be in there while I made the pickled fish anyway, waiting for things to boil and then cool. Good for multitasking.

I've completely lost track this week. LOL.

I've been sewing this week, and have four shirts ready for buttons and buttonholes.

We got the new perennial garden moved and filled with dirt.

We also got the base of the new steps leveled, and two of the five stringers tacked in place, so that project won't take long to finish now.

Tomorrow's list:

1. Make buttonholes for all four shirts, and put on buttons.
2. Continue reading South Beach Diet books.
