I want to get this started as I've made this a goal for myself for 2012. And while I failed miserably at this last year, I've renewed my resolve to make use of my HUGE (and seemingly GROWING) collection of cookbooks this year or face the self-imposed prospect of getting rid of some of them.

Personally, I am striving to make one new recipe a week. :chef2: Primarily I will be working on Main Dish-type recipes, but I am also open to picking a few more recipes of the side-dish or dessert variety to make each week. I will post the recipes, or at least the names of the new recipes, here.

Feel free to jump in or set a goal to make as many new recipes per week or month as you'd like! Good luck! :thumb:

I also started a 2012 Menu Planning Challenge and thought these two would fit together nicely!

P.S. Could someone start this as a Sticky? Thank you!

I'm going to join this challenge again this year. Last year my goal was 2 recipes a month, and I actually tried almost 40 (lost count). Of those 40, I have about 7 recipes added to my binder to make again. I'm setting my goal for 1 new recipe a month in 2012.

I have been trying LOTS of crockpot recipes for the last few months and I have come up with several winners. I have a new dip recipe I am going to try for News Year Eve.

I have a large oval crockpot, a 3 qt crockpot and my MIL gave me one of those triple crockpots for Christmas. I am going to use it for keeping things warm for New Year's Eve.

I will continue trying new recipes this year. I also tried a cake recipe for Christmas that is lower in fat and was quite tasty.

I know exactly what you mean. We get in a major rut and I find myself making the SAME things week after week.

I've put together my menu plan for the first two weeks of January and, combined, I have four new recipes to try! I'm so excited!

I have so many recipes saved at pinterest that you can put me down for 2 new recipes a month. Mostly dinner ideas because that seems to be the hardest to put on the table.

I am in for two new recipes each week. My DD and I are going to try and cook thru the 2012 Cooking Light cookbook :) We are pretty excited about it.

Same here - Pintrest is addictive.

I'm joining this, too. I'll aim for one new meal a week or else a side dish.

I'll jump in, but at a more conservative two per month. I need to push myself to try more recipes, but I never seem to have time to do it, so I don't want to set my target beyond my reach!

I hit my target of 24 in 2011 so another 24 for 2012. I'm actually making a new recipe tonight but since it's not officially 2012 yet I won't count it

Going grocery shopping tomorrow, so I guess I'd better figure out what I want to try, so I can buy the ingredients! I have a grocery sack full of clipped recipes that I thought were worth trying, so it shouldn't be TOO difficult to find something in there!

Okay, dug out four recipes to try, so I'll add the ingredients to my shopping list for today. I am looking for food that I can take to work with me for lunch and/or is easy to heat up when I get home at night.

The meals:

1) Vegetarian burgers
2) Fried broccoli
3) Chow mein
4) Chicken enchilada casserole

OK - I'm in for this one...I'm thinking one new recipe a week. Getting SO tired of making the same old things. I saw some great casserole recipes I want to try, so I'm going to add some stuff to grocery list for this week.
