Whether you track your daily steps using a Fitbit, pedometer, by the mile, by the minute, or any other way you prefer, join us on this thread! Let's see how well we can all do at making exercise into a regular habit, and maybe improving our fitness as we go.

This challenge is not a competition, so it doesn't matter how many or how few steps you want to set as your goal. You don't even have to make your goal public! Just check in to make yourself accountable, get some encouragement toward attaining your goals, or maybe give some encouragement to others.

Ready? GO! :)

3,600 steps, aiming for a daily average of 5,000. So far, so good. I had a nice walk along the lake, where I was treated to the never-boring sight of a bald eagle soaring overhead.

I also get credit for walking three flights of stairs, thanks to our steep driveway. At least it's good for something. :)

Sounds like fun! I have a Samsung S5 so my phone has a pedometer build it. The only downside is I need to carry my phone on me all the time for my steps to be accurate. My daily goal is 10 000 steps. I sit all day at work so I have to get my steps in before and after work. The best I ever did in one day was 21 095 steps ^_^ but that has only happened once. Usually when I beat my goal it is only by 1000 - 2000 steps.

Today so far I am at 4203

I'm in!

My daily goal is 4500 however today I'm feeling a bit under the weather so I am not even in the realm of meeting that goal at this point. Today I'm just going to do the best I can do and see where I wind up.

But tomorrow...4500 here I come.

I got my steps in! 5,172 so far. I'll get a few more before I go to bed, but not too many.

Gotta do the same tomorrow. It's supposed to be rainy but if it's not too windy that won't matter much.

Cricket, nice app!

I'm curious to get to my walk today and see what happened during the storm last night. It's sunny for the moment, so that's an incentive to get my walk in before the rain returns later today.

4,684 here. I only need about 500 more to reach my daily goal of 5K. I should make that easily.

It was great walking today. The forest always smells so amazing after a good rain. It was overcast and humid but at least I didn't get rained on.

I used my new kitchen timer and found out where I end up if I walk for fifteen minutes. I like the timer because then I'm assured of getting in my thirty minutes every day. I know I have a clock on my Fitbit but I don't like the little alarm and it's so hard to read in daylight, too. The kitchen timer is tiny and easy to read, so I think I'll be sticking with it. Another good gadget! LOL.

SD I like the idea of a timer to be sure you're getting in thirty minutes. I have a stop watch / timer on my phone. I should try that. I have never used the alarm on the Fitbit but I bet it would be tough to read in sunlight.

Hmm...will have to see about using my timer. After walking down to the new house to fish the robot vacuum out of the pool and put that away I'm at 3086.

I just picked up one of those little electronic kitchen timers at the dollar store. I think it was about $3 and it fits nicely in a pocket.

I made my goal for today and I'm over 5K.

Now to do the same tomorrow. Hopefully, I can dodge the rain again.
