Doing laundry in case we go through a repeat of February. It was balmy when I went out to feed the chicken. I just went out a couple of hours later to put straw down and it is windy and cold. Making Reuben sandwiches for dinner. Hope 2022 is a better year for all.

The Omicron virus acts like allergies. Wouldnt hurt to testHappy New Year!
DH has jambalaya in the crocker. I noticed that he put uncooked rice in a liquid measuring cup and let him know that he has to use dry measuring cups....I measured it properly and good thing- it would have been adding 1/4 C more of rice. Now I know why the beef stew always came out like oatmeal (too much barley and not enough liquid).
I heated up bbq chicken & ribs. I have the dough rising for the garlic/italian seasoned buns. We'll have lots of leftovers tonight.
I ordered the vacuum today. Free with GC's and free shipping.
DS2 went to bed early (for him) last night and got up to work. He's home now and in bed. He says he's cold and I know allergy season is bad so maybe it's allergies? DH has bad allergies and the doc wanted DS2 on injections but we said no. I hope it's just allergy issues.
Enjoying ginger tumeric tea and keeping an eye on DS2 before church.....
It was 18 here this morning. I started a fire in the fireplace. Watched church online and then made pancakes for everyone. Making chicken pot pie for late lunch/early dinner. DH and DD go back to work tomorrow. Yay!
Everyone is back to work and school. DIL tested positive for COVID. Hope the rest of the family stays safe. Took Dgd to school, banana nut bread in the oven and load of towels in the dryer. It’s cold here this morning, but suppose to warm up later. My goal for this year is to raise my credit score. Haven’t personally used credit in a long time, so my score is lower. I want to save up for new Living room sectional. My kitchen aid mixer bit the dust, but I will just use my hand mixer and immersion blender until I am get the one I want.
Did laundry today, went to the post office to mail a pkg. and then to the grocery store. Got Honeycrisp apples for 97 cents a pound and found Carnation canned milk 3 for $1. Went to CVS and bought 2 containers of Melatonin at B1G1 free. I had a coupon for $4 off $12 on the items and $11.12 in bucks. It ended costing me a little over $4. I saved 87% and got another $2 in bucks.
It’s raining here, but a bit warmer. Hoping that the rain stops. My grandson has a soccer game tonight. DH and I splurged and went out to eat last night for our anniversary that was on the 6 th. Eating leftovers today. Been working a cross stitch piece that my kids gave me for Christmas. Got the fireplace cleaned out and refilled for more cold weather coming in later tonight. Doing laundry and that’s it for today.
Cold and misting here. Doing more laundry and got beef stew in the crockpot. Going to make chicken and dressing for lunch with chive biscuits and some kind of vegetables. Will probably cross stitch and watch tv the rest of the day.
Cold but sunny here. Got up dizzy, but managed to get Dgd to school. Meeting a friend for lunch and then to Dgds award ceremony at school. Will go back later to pick her up. Not sure about dinner. Maybe leftovers.
Doing laundry today and went to the grocery store. I decided to spend $20 and buy a scratch off. I never do that, but it turned out to be $500. Paying bills. Adulting can be no fun sometimes.Ordered my $40 allotment from my insurance company. Got probiotic and melatonin. DH gets $40 too, so I will have to decide how to spend his. Not much else going on. Made a green bean salad and some turkey sausage balls for dinner tonight. Don’t know what will go with them.
Cold front came through last night. It went from 79 to the 30s very quickly. Possible snow flurries today. Our local school district shutdown yesterday and they are off Monday for holiday. Too any teachers out with COVID and no subs. Dgd and DH home. I could work everyday, but no thank you. With my winnings I was able to get all my bills paid before the due date. That hasn’t happened in a long time. Got creamy chicken thighs and noodles in crockpot for tonight. Going to make cream of asparagus soup for lunch. Got to feed the chickens.Guess I better bundle up.
Hope all of you under snow and ice stay safe. No cooking for me today. Plenty of leftovers. Gathered eggs and fed the chickens, watched church online, cut coupons and going to finish my cross stitch piece while watching the Cowboys.
Seems it’s not a backup of goods, but rather no workers to drive the trucks. Thank goodness for my chickens. At least I have eggs. I am planning my garden and will be planting cole crops soon. My grocery bill has doubled since last summer and I buy on sale and with coupons.
Got my mammogram done this morning and took Dgd to get her second shot this afternoon. Cooking a very small roast that was given to me. It had a tag of $13. I’ll do without. Cooked it with carrots, potatoes, and onions.
Going to be in the 70s here today. I’m going for a massage at noon, a gift from my DD. Making chicken spaghetti, green beans, fruit salad and rolls for dinner and to take to a family on our church meal train. Going to get down to the teens on Thursday. Texas weather is nuts.
Noticed the canned biscuit section was empty today at Kroger. You can get 4 free COVID tests per address. Google USPS COVID tests and the form will be there.
In the 60s, but dropping to the 30s tonight. Doing laundry and cleaned out the fireplace trap. Going to eldest Dgs soccer game later. It’s going to be so cold and windy.
It’s sunny but cold. Got my house cleaned and laundry done. Taking Dgd to the movies today and probably lunch. Her school is out today because of UIL contest being held. We both need an outing. If we go early, the theatre will be almost empty. Nothing on the agenda today. Need to go to Kroger as they have pork shoulder 99 cents a pound and will make great pulled pork sandwiches for the weekend.
Went to DgS soccer game this morning, then took both boys to the Holocaust museum in Dallas and out to lunch to celebrate eldest’s birthday. DH helped DS with some electrical issues at his house and then came home.
Sunny and cold here. Doing laundry here. Pork shoulder in the crockpot for pulled pork sandwiches. Going to make potato salad and caramel tastes for dessert. Taking Dgd to anime store for action figures. That’s about it for today.
Chilly this morning, but sunny. Going to clean up the car. Making chicken Kiev, rice, and squash casserole for dinner. That’s about it for me today.
