It's too cold! It'll warm up a few days then we have snow coming. Ds is back at his house, but is expecting a snow storm this weekend. He left his assignment early. He has so much going on and then starts an instructor course in a few weeks before moving to his next duty station. He's trying to get his house ready to sell and this assignment got in the way. He was next in line because the 3 before him all had the big "C". Someone was able to replace him. It was such a hurry up thing, he left some of his things here and his truck. He didn't have time to drive home and get to the assignment.

Dh texted me a picture of a camper. He said we are getting it in the next week or two. Someone at work is getting a new one and is selling it cheap. Dgd always talks about getting a camper van and taking trips. Now she just might have one. I think we'll be able to park it here at the house. Then it makes a mess for additional parking. It's something we've been talking about. We want to travel in the next few years and this will make it possible. It's really hard to travel with dogs.

My back and neck are doing okay. Thanks for asking. I really need to start doing my stretching exercises again and lose weight. Dgds will be back tonight to spend the night. They came over yesterday. Whenever they are left to take care of themselves (daddy was helping mommy with her college homework). They needed to just play by themselves for a little bit. They kept calling me. Then it was "can I come over". Dh said they could, but we were getting ready to eat and it would be later. Daddy ended up bringing them. So another night of getting nothing done. Same for tonight. Tomorrow, ds and wife are supposed to go out with friends. Crossing my fingers the other couple didn't get a sitter and they don't go. They'll be back Sunday to watch football. I'm tired just thinking about it. I'm glad they like to come visit, but grandma needs a break.

Dinner will be pizza tonight. Don't know if it will be frozen or we'll go get one. Need to run to the store for the rest of our dinner for Sunday.

Rujerro, you might also check Walgreens. They have 1.99 prices this week on Post brand cereals. Also, if you have Trader Joes, their Flakes and O's are 1.99.

The store was hopping and I was in a hurry to get out. forgot to get half-n-half and look for pearl onions. Sigh.

got my last two packages I was expecting. Genuine KN95 masks, and a wire-free bra that my sister recommended (she is "blessed" with an ample figure like me). The bra is comfortable, I'll keep it, but I'm not happy about the way I look in it (uniboob). It was only $13 on ebay, new.

Snow in my area only about 1". Should be sunny but windy today, 21 degrees this morning, like 9 with wind chill. Hubby is watching sports all weekend and there are 4 different types of leftovers in the fridge so I'm not cooking tonight. I'll do as much knitting as is comfortable since I made a mess getting out lots of scrap yarn balls to use up. There is also some laundry requiring special treatment or hand washing, should go ahead and take care of all that. Stay warm everyone.

It's above freezing, sunny and SS is on his way over to do things in the garage with DH. Doing online call with friends later. No reason to go out today. Looking over grocery ads to see if there's anything I need to stock up on. Football games this weekend, so lots of junk food on sale. :cautious:

Hope those of you with storms coming in are safe and dry.

Pork chops, or something similar, with corn for dinner.

Sunny and nice out. I'll enjoy it while I can. Dh and I and dh's brother went to eat lunch today. I think I'm good for the rest of the day. Dh is cleaning the cars. I managed to put some of the Christmas decor/lights in a container. Need to move it to the basement. Need to organize all the holiday decor. Not sure if I want to divide it by holiday or combine a few here and there. Just needs to be out of the living room for now.

Dgd is getting her kitten today. We were going to watch the girls again tonight while the parents went to eat, but when ds' wife started in with the schedule for the day, ds said he was going to stay home. She's going out with another couple by herself. She should stay home too. But this generation is nuts. I have a nephew with a wife that does the same, only worse. It would be way past the girls bedtimes before they got back to pick them up. Nope, not spending the night again. I have a life too. I want to do my own stuff. And poor dgd wouldn't get to spend any time with her new kitty.

May do a little cleaning/organizing in the basement, fold some laundry and maybe start another load. Going to prep my pork roast for the crock pot tonight. I'll get up early and turn it on. Pulled pork for dinner tomorrow while we watch football.

Sunny today in the 60s. Tomorrow suppose to be 69. DH got the garden tilled the first round this morning. Got my seeds from seed savers. Doing laundry and working on a new cross stitch piece for my sewing room. Suppose to start getting bad here on Monday and throughout the week. Don’t want a repeat from last year. If you haven’t watched Home Team on Netflix, do so. It was filmed here in Argyle. What a surprise to see familiar places on tv.

Jetts you need boundaries. Once that camper gets in your possession, you will have company all the time and you will never be alone in your travels....
It's been sunny but chilly...we picked up some new bird seed I won. Hope the birds like it....they offered to sell me more at a ridiculous price.
This morning husband and grandson picked up a recliner for grandson. The sofa I got they couldn't get it in the door into the living room....they finally pushed it up the stairs and it's in his bedroom.....I wish they had measured first and found out it wouldn't go in as I would have given him my sofa and kept the new one.....what goes up must come down but I told him if he had to saw in pieces to go ahead....it took hours to get it up and lots of back pain and frustrations....it's a beautiful sofa and I only paid $7 and I hate to see it go like that but not sure he wants to bother trying to get it back down in one piece. We got his downstairs curtains up and his apartment is fixed up nice....typical guy's apartment....full bar and no food....lol
Got another 960 pencils from my nephew's wife....she sent me 960 last week too....I probably have 6500 Ticonderoga pencils to make up my 1000 pencil packs....
Went to Kroger yesterday to pick up a box pizza....$66 later.......now, I found pizza coupon that expire tomorrow so husband said we will go pick up two more and he wants pot pies so will get those and I have a couple of free coupons for eggs and cheese I need to use. I have 3 dozen eggs but I'm not passing up free.....
Hope everyone is staying warm....and if you live on the east coast stay home....I was watching on TV and I don't miss that crap at all....be safe.....
Have a wonderful Sunday....

Peg the east coast weather is bad this year compared to most. I'll wait and see what next winter is like. I may consider fencing the back yard since the main reason for going out is dog walking. It would be a hassle (HOA rules) but cheaper and easier than other alternatives.
Sunny and cold again 16 degrees. Hoping hubby will make the London broil he bought. Still working on hats and using up odd balls of yarn. I was able to move knitting and crochet needles/hooks into the yarn tub and get rid of one shoe box anyway. Culled more papers from filing cabinet to recycle or burn. Still working on decluttering even it it's just one box at a time. Still a lot to do. Have a good day.

Sunny and warming up into the 40's. Going to be a great day for a football game. Cleaned out the fridge and made breakfast. Fried some bacon and leftover potatoes, made french toast out of some really old panettone and topped it with the last of the cherry cranberry compote.

Need to get caught up on the kitchen but that can wait for later. Going to sort through some books and things. probably don't need these catalogs from 2002 any more, for example.

Dinner will be lemon chicken, with a spinach and beet salad.

Let Dgd place quilt blocks like she pleased. They were made from scraps and I quilt as I go. I will probably put them together tomorrow. Made breakfast tacos this morning and had LO smoked turkey and broccoli cheese casserole. I made dressing and a salad and opened a can of cranberry sauce. Dgd requested pumpkin bread, so I used pumpkin from the freezer and made 4 loaves. DH just added some soil to one of my flower beds and I set out some gladiolus bulbs. Going to be in the 70s tomorrow. We are suppose to get wintry mix on Wednesday through Friday.

Good morning. 19 degrees here. Placed a Target order - need items for dog club event this weekend and some things for fridge here. Fortunately they seem to have what we need in stock and cheaper than the regular grocery store or CVS. Will see what I feel like doing after picking up the stuff. I should be able to finish a chemo hat today. Thinking of making applesauce cake, maybe as cupcakes. I'll need to pack my lunches for this weekend. Hope everyone's week starts out well.

Sunny and warming up today. Should have a little nice weather before we get snow mid week. Have the usual things to do at home. Menu figured out for the week, don't need anything, but DH still drinking milk like a teenager so I will have to go out tomorrow. Looking like a quiet day here.

New cat on the deck this morning, black one with a white button under his chin. Ran off before I could take food out. Don't know if it will come back.

Going to dig out a cheap steak for dinner, the last couple of baked stuffed potatoes and maybe do them on the grill.

Frustrating day. Paid a $400+ water bill. Had a talk with DH. Neither of us can figure out why our Dec/Jan bill is higher than June-Sept combined. Hoses are disconnected, nothing is leaking or dripping. We didn't do huge loads of laundry every day of the week.

Made cranberry bread with a different recipe. I like the previous one better. This one is not bad by any means, but it's heavier. Had to throw out a container, about 2 cups worth of nuts. They were rancid. Probably why they were on clearance at New Year's. So far that's the only one of about 10 containers I bought that's come up bad. Had to use some of my precious pre-covid stash of pecans. Not sure when I can get more, have to drive across the state to get them.

Feeling very tired, no energy. Today was a ridiculous 65* out. I had a nice nap and DH and I went out for a walk. Tomorrow's supposed to be a bit cooler. Hope you guys up north are digging out and doing ok.

It's raining here....dreary....I just want to go back to bed....but of course I'm not....

Doing a load of laundry for neighbor who's house burned.....she's been packing everything up and putting in storage so contractors can come in and repair the house.....fireman said the leak saved the house.....husband saw water pouring out of roof so he turned off water and few hours later when she came home he went over to help her ,thinking the ceiling would be down etc. from leak...looked up and saw the beams smoldering.....she is one lucky gal....they have been smoldering for at least a day fireman said....she could have died in her sleep from smoke.....

I got a ton of madri gras beads today for my shoeboxes. Told husband I could probably sell them and get my money back ten times over....they are in short supply this year because of ships being held up in the port.

I really need to start a meal plan as I never know what I'm having for dinner.....I guess I just need to sit down, plan, and stick with it....my freezer is packed full...picked up two bags of chicken breasts yesterday, 2 pizzas, and texas toast. What fun getting them in....Time to clean it....It's not self defrosting so it's time....

Got grandson a microwave and will be delivered tomorrow....it's turquoise to match his air fryer, canisters, and towel holder. I'm anxious to see it....it's quite small but he will only use it to heat up stuff....you know how young kids are...

Dr. appt. tomorrow afternoon....when I made appt nurse said I would have to come back for check up....I don't think so...give me the shot, check my bloodwork and I'm gone till May....no sense in coming in again next week....
CH that is a high bill....wow....maybe they estimated it and didn't actually read the meter?
GB sounds like a great job for daughter. Glad things are working out for her.
CH hope the cat comes back....we have a pure white one that comes to my back patio at night. Along with the possums. Never see her during the day.....just birds and squirrels. I had a small wooden birdhouse...one you would find in the craft section of DT....I made an approved mixture for birds out of flour, water, sugar and knox gelatin I think and covered it then rolled it in seeds....added trim of oranges, apples, grapes, and cranberries....hung it in tree....birds ignored it....it fell on ground and our camera show the squirrel came by and carried it away....up over the fence....guess he liked it....was going to make them for my craft for next year craft party but not so sure now....

Dlrcpa that is too darn cold....that's why we don't visit back east in the winter....it did snow one year and I was excited...we were on the way to the airport to leave so didn't get to see much of it....
Martha hope your family gets over their sickness....no fun being sick...

Hope everyone is having a good week....stay warm...stay healthy....

Peg- Hope the labs are good at the doc today.
CH- Is there a potential water leak? Hmmm. Cranberry anything sounds good right now...
GB- Congrats on your DD's new job!

It's getting cold this week. In the bitter negative digits. I am not looking forward to standing outside with DS2 and waiting for the bus...I hope the bus shows up, and starts up and has a driver....

DS2 didn't buy bus/train pass this semester. Not sure if he missed the memo or what... So, he has been getting on transportation through sheer luck. Today, he has $ to get on the transportation today and get a new pass while at school.
I have various meats thawing for a casserole and a macaroni dish. I'll try to thaw a ham.

I need to see a dentist as a filling in the front of a tooth has fallen out. I don't know if they will suggest a crown or what and I'll see the surgeon to find out if I'm a candidate for dental implants. This tooth is right behind the canine.

I'm still trying to get my meds. Now the insurance company wants me to have a "generic" insulin that recently got approved. It can cause heart failure....There are others that don't list that as a side effect but of course, they are more expensive and insurance is wanting me to try the generic...The doc needs to preauthorize me to get my normal drug but she has never agreed to preauthorization for anything. She always told me that I can take whatever the insurance wants me to take... Let's see how this plays out... If she decides she doesn't want to preauth me, I'm gonna have to find a new doc. And pay out of pocket for this until someone wants to do a preauth. Good thing I'm working more hours and got a pay raise.
