Sounds like everyone is in go mode with this weather. Going to be nice today with clouds. Got to add more straw for the chickens and probably will bring some wood inside by the back door as Thursday through Sunday will be bitter and icy. Also need to replace a panel of foam board in the chicken house. Got my two free quick response COVID tests in the mail yesterday. Hope I dont have to use them. Free N 95 masks are available here now. Guess I will pick up my 3 today. I really don’t know how you people up north live through this cold, but I guess you say the same about our tornados and heat. Everyone stay safe!

Good morning. 19 degrees again - next heating bill is going to be awful. Bought ground beef yesterday, will freeze half and use the rest for supper, maybe shepherd's pie? I need a new front wood panel for my garden cart. Hubby says it's "on his list to do" but I think it's the post-apocalypse list, not the one for my lifetime. Found a suitable one online but the shipping costs nearly as much as the part. :(

Yesterday was a beautiful day. So warm. Now snow coming tonight. Yesterday I was in so much pain. Crazy weather. Dgd came and spent the day. Not what I had in mind for my day, but she had fun. Took the camper van out for drive. She was worried about sitting in the back without a seatbelt. Told her to just sit still. Mommy stopped and got the cat tree that dgd saw last night and wanted for her new kitty. Glad mommy got it for her. Her new kitty is so cute. Looks like it could be part maine coon or another I saw was a norwegian forest. Really cute cat. It has really big paws and little tufts of hair around the ears. We have another stray cat that comes around every few days to eat. Yesterday he made himself at home in the garage. Finally got him out. We don't need another cat, but I do feel bad for him. It's going to be cold for the next few days. He goes somewhere. He's been around for a few years.

Need to clean up the house. Didn't do anything yesterday. Didn't even eat, just junk. I don't know what's up with me, just not feeling like much of anything lately. Just want to curl up in bed and hide. I've been really tired the past few days too. I'm just mentally exhausted. I do have a break until Friday. Really hoping they aren't coming for taco tuesday tonight. I'm the one that has to deal with all of it. I told dh I probably wouldn't go anymore. It's just too much and I don't get to enjoy my meal or even the time out.

Better get something done around here. Everyone stay safe and warm.

Bit of snow yesterday and last night! But not enough to bother shoveling unless more is on the way. It is supposed to stop with just the 3" on the ground and then be sunny and above freezing later this week so I think I will skip the shoveling.

Have lunch and supper pre-prepped today and enough gas for 1-2 more days so am starting Feb with a couple of no spend days. I always like to do that.

I managed to plan ahead while folding laundry and have a few things in the mending bag before they go back into rotation. Of course, I missed a few things like my favorite long johns...which I wear as jammies in the winter. This morning during yoga stretching I noticed one is coming apart at the seam at the ankle. Might stitch that up today before the whole leg turns into a palazzo pants type deal.

Cooler and wet here this morning. Snow on the way tonight and tomorrow. Had to run out for milk this morning, store was already mobbed with people buying ice melt and TP. Got a few vegs, english muffins, one pack of marked down pork, bbq beans and corn, and cottage cheese. They had orchids marked down, got one for DH for $10. He loves them. Total was $70+.

Trash didn't get picked up this morning. I wonder if it will get done before the storm. They have trash truck drivers doing double duty as plow drivers... but it's not snowing yet.

DH looked at water bill, said he thought it was run off charge (we get charged based on sq ft of the roof for how much goes into sewers) but I pointed out there was a separate charge for that and it was very low. And we barely had any rain in Dec. So now we think it may be from running dishwasher more often.

Picked up chinese food for a late lunch. We have enough left for dinner if we get hungry later.

Jetts, go ahead and tell family no tacos tonight. You're tired and the weather is bad.

M, hope you get a menu plan figured out. Make a list of what you can see in front/on top and go from there.

Still waiting on the at-home covid tests I signed up for. No idea if/when they'll be offering the masks here. Our governor is still pretending it isn't an issue.

I had to clean out our really old Playmate cooler to use at the dog club event this weekend. It looked awful but I used a Mr. Clean magic eraser sponge and Comet powder and wow, it looks really good now. Got most of the marks and dingy
crud off. I was surprised. Also took care of the musty smell, leaving it open to air out for a few days anyway.
Applesauce cake turned out so-so, too crumbly to pack for lunches. Still have time to make something different. I need to make bread anyway. Fortunately LOTS of ham on hand for sandwiches.

Lots of snow and all schools closed, even online classes.
No word from doc or the pharmacy about my meds. I sent another email to my doc stating that I need pre-auth for all of my meds now. Maybe a nurse will reply as most of the time that's how it goes.
I'll probably make spaghetti for dinner. I hope we can make it to the gym today despite the weather.
I was able to go thru part of my stockpile and put all the water in totes, canned goods in another tote... I still have to finish sorting but it is getting there.

Good morning. 28 degrees and weird fog outside. CH hope you are feeling better and the craft show is worth it.
I ordered the cart part, cheaper than a new cart of course and use it all the time for yard work. Going to pick up scripts at CVS and get my multi-vitamins, 50% off 2nd bottle + $3 coupon and extrabuck. Leftovers for supper but probably do some baking and make my own salad dressings. Dogs tracking lots of mud into house and loads of dirty towels. Still snow on the ground so it will be that way for a while. Ugh. Hope everyone's week is going well.

Several inches of snow on the ground and still coming down. Pretty light right now but expected to go through to tomorrow. We are buttoned up tight at home. Will clear the steps for the Postie after breakfast.

Thanks Dlr, feeling more rested and clear headed today. Hopefully it lasts. Sounds like you have a busy day ahead. Those old coolers clean up pretty well, they were made to take a beating.

Will ask DH what he wants for dinner, chicken and vegs, or chili dogs. Either way both get cooked this week. Have a lot of leftover fried rice for lunch.

Snowy and cold. Staying in today. Didn't get as much snow as they predicted. That's okay with me. Dh didn't have to go to work, but has to meet someone this afternoon. It's always so pretty, until everyone starts driving and the snow plows come through, then it's just ugly. Lots of birds on the feeder. Had to go get cat food last night. Didn't realize we were out. Paid more than I wanted, but it was more convenient.

Don't have much planned today. Going to heat up the brisket and burnt ends left from the weekend. I bought bbq stuff from sams last week. A lot cheaper than going out and it will satisfy my craving. And we can get 2-3 meals plus some lunches out of it. Dh says no more eating out. We did go out last night for tacos and ds and the girls came. They have fun, but it will come to an end for a while. Dh wants to send all our extra to pay off debt. He thought of all the money we spend eating out here and there and we could pay off so much. We can make the same foods at home for so much cheaper. We eat out because it's convenient. I just need to do a better job of planning and prepping.

Everyone stay safe and warm today.

Sleeting so much it looks like snow. Went to the grocery store yesterday. It wasn’t crazy, but shelves were almost empt. Got the hens taken care of and laundry done. Today I’m not doing much. Got to brave the cold later and check on the hens. Potato soup and cornbread for dinner. DH had to go to work even though the schools are closed today and tomorrow.

Good morning. GB good you still have power, news says many don't.
Going to be above freezing today and Friday, raining right now. Bread is in the machine, I made HB eggs, and I have 2 free online training sessions today. Still knitting. Tried to start a cross-stitch but not really interested. Also don't feel like cooking much, so spaghetti and meatballs (freezer). Will load up my car for the weekend. I'm carpooling with another club member Friday night to do set-up at the facility. Will be glad to get this event over and back to routine on Monday.

Take care GB and stay warm inside. I know how everything shuts down at the faintest hint of snow in the south. We had a dusting overnight, missed the largest part of the storm. Plow has been by and someone did the sidewalks! Still, I have no need to go out. Might throw some ice melt on the stairs since the sun is out now.

Dlr, hope your event goes well and he weather isn't much of a hindrance.

More seed catalogs coming in the mail. Time to take stock of what I have and start figuring out this year's garden.

DH wanted chili dogs last night, which was just stuff out of the freezer. Tonight I have to cook, it'll be chicken and brussels sprouts.

Very cold, but the sun is shining. So glad we didn't get as much snow as predicted. It's going to be around at least til next week, when it starts warming up again. These up and down temps are making me ache so much. I think I've figured out why I'm so tired. The cholesterol meds have kicked in. That's the only thing that has changed. I'm pretty sure that's a side effect.

Spent most of today paying bills and organizing files. Pulled out a lot of old stuff to be shredded. Did a little shredding too. Got insurance on the camper van. We've been watching a lot of RV videos. Everyone seems to name their RVs. I'll just call it the camper van. That's what dgd calls it. She got that from watching Peppa Pig. She can't wait to take a trip and sleep in it. It needs some work on the inside. The carpet needs to go. It smells musty inside. We'll just put down some vinyl flooring. We want to redo all the beds/seating with new foam and upholstery. I wish I knew how to do that. Maybe I should watch some videos on that. Dh wants to replace the front seats. The previous owner raised them up too high. He must have been really short. We want to build in some kind of place for the dogs. They'll be travelling with us now. Lots of cleaning to do.

Really need to work on the basement and get that organized and decluttered. Need to find a good thrift store to donate to. The DAV was a little too picky last time. A new place opened nearby. They say they'll take anything. We'll see.

Really tired of dog club drama and cannot wait for this event to be over on Sunday. Crappy weather has everyone on edge although it could be worse. It's all "chance of ... whatever" and people go nuts. Having to instruct hubby how to care for dogs on Saturday since he is clueless. Dog2 is fine but dog1 won't be cooperative with him. Brutal cold Saturday so dogs need to stay home. Nicer on Sunday so I can take dog1 with me. I hope everyone else has a restful weekend.

Dlr, it's a shame that drama ruins so many clubs and events. Hope your weekend with/without the dogs turns out well, with no icy accidents. People do tend to freak out when weather is coming.

Did not get as cold here as predicted, but once you get below freezing it all feels the same. We have sun today and I hope it finishes melting off my car. Planning to go out to a big craft show tomorrow and not looking forward to having to scrape my car first.

Jetts, how exciting to get a "new" camper. I bet your head is filled with plans for summer! Sounds like getting it fixed up will keep you busy for a while. Hope you have fun with it.

We've got leftover fried rice for dinner and I'll put some egg rolls in the oven and maybe make a wonton soup to go with it. They had bok choy at the grocery store this week and it makes a good soup.

Sunny and cold. Picked up a couple of grocery orders. Had to run in for a few things, like produce and things I forgot and it was too late to add.

Tried to make a call while I was out and my phone says network locked. I have no idea what's wrong. It also said something about the sim card. I hate dealing with this kind of stuff. I'll look it up and see if there is an easy fix. Don't want to go to the phone place to fix it. Always something happening.

Dgds will come later. I can't handle them right after getting groceries. The dogs drive me nuts and then the girls talk nonstop. Makes me crazy. I need to relax before the next phase of chaos starts.

Not sure what we'll do for dinner. Dgd wanted some cheesy rice. Found out it's a stouffers dinner. It was out of stock. I found a copycat recipe online. Was able to find all the ingredients. Not sure if I'm up to cooking though. Maybe McDs again.

Freezing here....no sun.....we all have power so that's a good thing....slept late again. Sister called from NY and said it's sleeting and freezing and she has no internet....her daughter is without power. And lots of snow.....I don't miss that...
My bird baths are frozen so we chipped ice so birds will have something to drink...we aren't use to doing this...lol.....they seem to like the new birdseed I got....the possum seems to like it too.

Made tortilla soup last night and will have that again tonight. Had some almond crossants in freezer so left them out to proof last night....baked them this morning....had half of one as I am watching my sugar. Have another blood work done first of March for sugar and kidney check. Hoping numbers go down....

Went thru a ton of paperwork I had stored under my bed. It was all the paperwork Medicare sends so it was ten years worth....what a job...not sure why I kept it all.....but now I have room under my bed for my Christmas platters and dinnerware....

Moved the dresser in guest room and brought in the bookcase....lots more room now....was able to empty a couple of totes and organize the stuff on the bookcases....

Received six huge boxes from cousins for my shoeboxes. They are great shoppers....they love doing it....my sister sent me more pencils. I have my work cut out for me.

CH have fun at the craft show....always fun to see what others are doing....some are really talented....

Not doing much....not going out....hope everyone has a great day, stay safe, stay warm....
