Pleasantly above freezing and warming to ~50 today. DH and I had a nice dinner last night at a nearly empty local place. Today's plan is some simple baked chicken.

I've sorted my new seeds by date and there are some I can start indoors now. First I need to get pots and find space for them.

Grocery sale isn't great this week, and we don't need much, but I'm going to pick up things like tacos, salsa, and snacks for the pantry.

By the way, I got a text from my service provider last night saying the SIM card in my phone was not compatible with the new voLTE network standard and would stop working on Feb 22. I showed it to DH and we did some research, and it turns out my phone will continue to work just fine after the support for 3g ends later this month. I'm sure a lot of people are freaking out and just buying new phones. So if you see one of these messages, do a little digging first, it could save you a lot of money.
My phone said the Sim card was not compatible with my phone. The SIM card failed. Had to get a new SIM card. I was wondering if it had anything to do with 3g, but it was a bad SIM card. The guy on the phone told dh I must have put a different SIM card in. Dh told him, he didn't think I knew how to get to the SIM card. DH was right. Put the new card in and it's been working fine. Didn't realized cards could go bad.

Sunny today and lots I want to do. I'd like to look for 1/2 price chocolate to put away for the girls. This is the only place they get candy. I do need a couple of things from the store. Didn't get bread because I only shopped at Aldi last week. I don't care for their bread.

Ds came and left. Picked up his truck and all the stuff he picked up along the way for a friend. We still have both dogs. It will be easier for them. If he sells his house before time to move or moves and doesn't find a house right away, what will he do with the dogs. We'll bring them down once he's settled. His friend his nice. She's talked to us more in the two times we've seen her than his ex did the 3 years they were married.

We ate out way too much this weekend. There is one bbq place ds loves to go to. I was shocked at the total. Let's just say I could have made a car payment with that much money. I told dh that would have to be our anniversary dinner. I was planning on staying home today, but dgd needs someone to take her to class tonight. So we'll probably stop at McDs for dinner.

Happy Valentine's Day!

CH- There was a lot of debate out here regarding the phone companies getting rid of 2G and 3G. In the end, they decided not to get rid of it as elderly use 3G with their alert items. Me and DS2 have 2G phones and although mine has spotty reception, his works great.

Lots of leftovers to get through- smoked pork, smoked beef ribs....Maybe DH will get some rolls for sandwiches.

Beautiful day at 60 degrees. Snow on Wednesday and the into the 40's the rest of the week.

I ordered a goji berry plant from etsy. I'll plant it where the strawberries used to be....I understand the first year may not produce much but the 2nd year will be a lot of berries. I also purchased a planter and hope to try my hand at onions in there. The wine barrel outside will have herbs and carrots since it did well with those last year...C'mon Spring!

Since I've been working more, I hope to buy flooring for the house. DH said he would redo the floors in the basement OR the main floor but not both. It's too hard on him. I think the basement should be first since it took all of that flooding and I have no idea if there's water under the flooring or mold or what. It's a smaller area of about 300 ft.

We are going out to a date night at a theatre w drinks meat cheese board etc. old movie it happened one night but hey something to do and supports local business. got kids some kinder eggs etc. most of the valentine stuff has already disappeared out of the stores so no deals. Easter is out but have a lot from last year hidden in the cold closet.

Rujerro we did the vinyl wood tiles ..looks like laminate flooring in the part of basement by washer etc backdoor and that wasn't hard to put in. not expensive either. plus went over concrete floor.

got my grocery order, the whipped cream angel food cake is almost gone already lol was good. made tortellini in alfredo sauce w sausage and spinach in it last night so there is leftovers of that or the kids can make dinner hotdogs or whatever. have a kinda plan of food in my head for the week but will see. chilly so soups and anything in the oven.

of course work calls volunteer and paid. dh touched up the wood vanity in the bathroom and I was I asked you to do that..he was yes when it was put in (yr and a half ago) said just looked normal by now but he remembered :) ( love him and he fixes things in a emergency or if it can't wait but if it can) so since cousins coming over saying can we get doors downstairs replaced. long weekend coming up so can get done then. ds cleaned up his room and surprise if you organize you have room in there..plus he is allergic to dust. dd said she sorted out her drawers too like I asked so will see.

Near freezing this morning but supposed to warm up to 60. Crazy weather. Going out this morning to check for meat markdowns. Could use some chicken but whatever is fine. Chips and snacks on sale because of the ball game, will buy some for the pantry and hope DH doesn't binge on it. Hoping to keep it under $100. Got to put a few bills out in the mail this morning too.

Dinner is pork stir fry with vegs, l/o rice, maybe spring rolls.

chilly and a TINY bit of snow today. But not bad.
Re: phones: I got rid of my ancient 3g, have a less ancient used 4g flip phone now. Went to ATT and the nerd replaced the sim card with a new one in the "new" phone. Works great but sounds different. AND is HUGE. Makes a giant lump in my pocket but I need the rugged version and this is military grade. Hope it keeps working a while. I will keep an eye for a 2nd one so I have a back up phone when I run it over with something even it can't survive (I am hard on phones). I am manually putting the contacts in still. With mild dyslexia it is always a challenge but nice to purge and to have an excuse when someone hasn't heard from me that I maybe don't want to be in close touch with. Hopefully I get used to the new features. One nice thing with the huge-ness is that the buttons and the numbers on them are big enough I can see them even if I forget my cheaters. can't read the texts but at least could dial 911!

Ruj, aren't you sick of the snow by now? I know I am.
Good morning. 27 degrees and sunny outside, did not feel too bad. I'll try SS exercise class this morning and I have a free online training class this afternoon. Reading a free Amazon e-book that is pretty good, and knitting a child's hat, probably finish both today. Salad and leftovers for supper. I'll start thawing some ground beef for tomorrow. Have a good day.

Cloudy, warm, and windy today. Going to be nice enough, but winter storm moving in tonight. Rain, ice, then heavy snow. Did grocery run yesterday, we will be fine. Monthly cat food delivery expected today. Should be pretty quiet otherwise.

M, my phone is only a couple years old, so I was surprised it is being aged out already. I think the model is older, I just got a newer type of SIM in mine. But tech lifespans are measured in months these days. Sigh.

Leftover fajitas, maybe a salad for dinner. Have a large package of ground beef I want to thaw sometime soon, so I can make sloppy joe mix and maybe empanadas.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Warm and windy. I just heard up to 8 inches of snow tomorrow. It's 65 degrees right now. Crazy!

Went to Natural Grocers. They had a HBA sample give away for the first 50 people today. I got there and the place was empty. Got my samples. Lots of goodies. Found some taro chips there. Haven't been able to find those in years. So good. They were still out of their brand of coconut aminos. I want to try it. It's much cheaper than the other brands. Stopped at Aldi. That's where everyone was. Stocking up before the storm. I need to check the cat food supply. May have to get back out and get some. The stray tricks dh. He'll get food from me in the afternoon and then come back for more when dh gets home.

Dinner tonight will be Mexica zucchini. Got dh some keto wraps and he said he'll put it in the wrap and eat it that way. Okay.

Gotta make a target run. Need cat food. Hopefully it will be ready quickly before the rain starts. Everyone stay safe.

Woke up with yet another headache, but storms are on the way, so that explains it. Doing laundry. Went to grocery store, but only bought essentials. Having chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice and retried beans for dinner. Very windy and cloudy. I’m ready for something different. I don’t know how you that live in snow for so long don’t go nuts. I like a day here and there, but that’s it.

Our new fridge was delivered today and the old one hauled away. Hooray! Of course the old one didn't die until just after I'd stocked up on more stuff than would fit in our little mini fridge... grr... We could afford the replacement out of savings, but I don't have to like it!!!

This one is a tad smaller than the old one and is on wheels, which will make cleaning SO much easier! And I will be able to pull it out to paint behind it if I want when I paint the kitchen imminently.

It will take a little getting used to there being an extra drawer where we used to have a shelf, and the shelves aren't really adjustable like the old one, but oh well.

H hooked up the water supply line himself so that we don't have to pay $130 for someone else to come do it... now just waiting to make sure the ice maker kicks on (the manual says give it 24 hours for the first batch, which is odd, but whatever...)

TBH, it's not the worst thing that I was FORCED to discard a lot of fridge-door condiments... It keeps me honest about things being old "but still good!!!" I remember 20 years ago cooking at MIL's old house, and pulling a 20+ year old brown-and-yellow can of dried ginger out of her cabinet-- it had no smell. It had completely decomposed... I don't know when I would have ever used more of that Thai chili paste on the bottom shelf, but derned if I was gonna throw it away!!! 🤣

Weather is looking pleasant-for-February for the next few days, so I am hoping to get out to the yard a bit... but I FINALLY got my test date for my nursing license exam, so I OUGHT to be studying... Meanwhile, I am excited for Friday because we are planning to go to an RV show and start daydreaming about my future travel-trailer. So lots going on here, none of it very exciting unless you're me 😁🤣

The snow finally melted yesterday. No more snow please.
Thawing ground turkey for supper, some sort of burrito filling. SS Exercise class and another free training hour online this morning. Tuesday left a phone message for the garden cart place about the part I ordered 2 weeks ago and never received or heard anything. Got a email that they "found the missing panel and wasn't sure who it belonged to" and would ship it. Ugh, never using them again.

Very cloudy and getting colder. Think it rained last night. I’m going to go tutor at the rescue today. I now tutor 4 sex trafficked boys. One is taking a college class, 2 for Geds, and the other is prepping for a standardized test. They are so sweet. It makes me sick to think of all that they have been through. Not sure what’s for dinner tonight. Have a great day.

Jetts, glad you got your goodies. I considered going to the one near me on Monday for the free chocolate, but Tues is usually my day out so I didn't go. And didn't go again on Wed cause I'd been out on Tues. This area is kind of a desert when it comes to shops, everything is a drive.

Yay for the new fridge Zhoen. I really should go through my condiments, too and use them more.

Sorry Dlr, it's snowing today and headed your direction.

We had rain last night but it didn't form ice, though it may be very slick out there anyway. Snowing hard now, very windy but I think we have about 3" right now. Hard to tell. Woke earlier with a headache, went back to sleep. Not going out and it's definitely a no spend day. Was expecting cat food delivery yesterday, didn't arrive. Feel bad for the driver who has to be out today.

Not sure about dinner. We've had chicken 3 of the last 4 days and I don't feel like it again. Maybe the chili we didn't have last night, with cornbread. Leftover vegs piling up, need to eat those too.

Hope everyone is warm and dry.

I had a complete fail today....ran to Aldi's (alone for the first time in about three years)....went for Kombucha...I like the Pink Lady Apple....I picked up five bottles....I wandered the store and before I knew it, I had a cart full....but, I really did enjoy myself.....since the pandemic I've been staying away from stores and when I do go in, my husband comes in with me and we get what we need and leave....I truly enjoyed being by myself....
I washed linens today. straightened up the guest room again....it's a never ending chore....decorated the table for Madri Gras....my tote with decor is in attic so I made do with what I had within reach.
I got a new china cabinet for valentines day. It's not new, it's from the 70's, Ethan Allen and about twice the size I had. Husband used Murphy's oil on it and it shined up nice. He moved everything out of old one, washed the floor (it was pretty bad as my old one sat there for over 25 years) and had grandson's come over and bring in the new one....they took the old one to my daughter. I filled it yesterday. Got rid of some stuff but kept most of it...I use it all to decorate my table...I just enjoy doing it and it makes me happy when I walk into the kitchen and see the table set pretty.
Made an Italian pork roast for dinner with mac and cheese I had to use up and spinach. It was good.

Peg enjoy the new cabinet. My parents had one with lights inside. It conveyed with the house.
Good morning, very windy today. Hubby is off work due to the weather. Going to turn colder again for a few days so nothing getting done outside. Got UPS notification that my garden cart part is on the way - finally. Still have leftovers taking up space in the fridge so not cooking. May work on the quilt today since it's sunny. Have a good weekend.
