Cold and sunny here today. Dh came home early, but has hvac issues at work. Has the computer tied up trying to get it to work. We saw a dog out on the neighbor’s porch yesterday. Had been there for over an hour. Dh went out to feed the stray cat that comes around and went over to talk to the neighbor. He said it wasn’t his and had never seen it before. Dh said he’d take it in and try to find its home. Neighbor asked a few times to keep it. Posted everywhere and no one has lost a dog. Dh just took it to the vet to get it scanned for a chip. Tomorrow we’ll take it to the shelter. It’s closed today. We are suspicious of the neighbor, because we’ve seen pit puppies there before. I think they stuck it outside and hoped it would leave.

Going to run some errands this afternoon. We need to get some straw for all the muddy areas in the backyard. Return some dryer parts. Oh yeah, did I say I got a new dryer? The old one didn’t start. It finally died. It’s a long line to run for the dryer vent. Dh did it different this time. Instead of all flex hose, he ran some steel piping for the longer runs. It shouldn’t clog up with lint as much.

Dinner tonight will either be shrimp boil or Mexican zucchini.

rained all night so most snow gone and just messy looking. was a period of hard slushy rain. still a holiday for most here. since school got pushed to going back next week people travelling. We are suppose to get more snow starting tuesday night..since kids and friends want to see spiderman booked that just now. reg theatre all booked up so did the laserultra one..fancier picture apparently..costs a bit more.. used two the cheaper movie coupons.

went downstairs and choked on the smell..cat pee..some cus cat peeing on laundry by washer..dh was nice and put up a holder over the basement door for hanging a blanket to keep cold out but didn't fold it over enough so bottom on floor so she peed on that. and of course the litter box that was supposed to be dumped days ago didn't happen. so dd got to clean w dh supervision floor under and scoop the rest of the litter boxes. I did a couple of loads and made her do laundry next. smelling better down there. dh did the garbages etc too. I have beeswax candle going.

of course was warm enough and no rain but cats didn't want to go out also why litterboxes need cleaning more plus miss stress pee'r. though how many xmases she has been though....my car was ready so went and got it. about $300 for repairs not bad. keep trying not to have work to do but ..keep coming up so dealing with it. of course housework too. leftovers for dinner or they can have hotdogs. dh put out 2 new suet seed blocks too. ds has been off w friends all day so avoiding all this lol will do one store tomorrow before the movie. got dh to finally get the box for thrift store in my car so I will take it there...keep saying I will and then don't.

finding all my favourite type of british shows on youtube..watching Kirsties handmade xmas at the moment from this xmas.

Everyone is back to work and school. DIL tested positive for COVID. Hope the rest of the family stays safe. Took Dgd to school, banana nut bread in the oven and load of towels in the dryer. It’s cold here this morning, but suppose to warm up later. My goal for this year is to raise my credit score. Haven’t personally used credit in a long time, so my score is lower. I want to save up for new Living room sectional. My kitchen aid mixer bit the dust, but I will just use my hand mixer and immersion blender until I am get the one I want.

Sunny and warming up today. The only thing I want to do is get some milk and get a refund for the difference at walmart. I was waiting for the returns to slow down before I tried going back in. I'll have to dig the box out of the closet and take it in. I know the manager just took my info to calm me down a few weeks ago. She didn't do anything.

Ds' wife took the dog home with them last night. Ds doesn't want to keep it because it's going to be bigger than he'd like. I'm not thrilled because it's a pit bull. Dh will take it to the shelter today. I guess it's a long process for pits. We took it to our vet to get scanned and they gave it a cortisone shot for the itching. It nipped the vet tech, so we do have to report that. I think it could be a great dog, in the right home. I think our neighbor's house will be tagged now, because that's where we found it and they already have a pitbull.

We'll go out for taco tuesday tonight. Ds asked if we were going this week. We tried a new place. It's Mexican Street food. It's set up like Chipotle. We feel like it's a little healthier eating there, than the old place we used to go to. It's owned by the same people. Dh's brother eats there 4 -5 times a week. He works down the street from it. Ds really like it and I figured out what to get dgd so she doesn't waste the food.

Now to start going through the Christmas stuff and organizing and downsizing some of it. Found extra tree lights. Glad I didn't buy any. Time to start clearing out the basement and donate or give away a bunch of stuff. Laundry piled up while we waited for the new dryer. Dh used it yesterday cleaning up after this dog.

We had no snow overnight for the first time in a few weeks! I only had to shove through the plow berm before I left. Last night, it had snowed and blown all day, I got to shovel 4 inches of wet snow out of my drive before I could pull in and park. I left my vehicle at the rest stop next door and walked over (1/4 mile? half mile? something), shoveled, walked back to get the car, then parked. I'm glad the rest stop is there so I can do this but man...the snow is getting exhausting! With the wind all day, driving was hairy due to drifts and my snow shoe trail to the cabin and from there to the solar, coop, etc was all obliterated. I tried to follow it but even in snow shoes if I got a bit off to the side of the old, now invisible trail, I sunk about a foot into the snow. This morning was better. The trail was still there so I took an extra minute to pack some of it down better and hopefully it won't blow over again today.
I really do like where I live and how I live, but every once in a while something gets under my skin.

Our new worry is if it rains later this week! 2-3' of snow on the ground just sitting there is ok. Rain on it and the whole shebam melts and we get flash floods. I will be fine where I am, but it can wash out roads, take houses into the river in towns and generally kind of suck.

Of course once I was home last night and the fire was stoked up in the stove, I was warm and doing tiny yoga in my tiny home...all was good again.

Cloudy, grey and blowy today. Staying in. Got household chores to do, some holiday stuff to put away, etc. Got out some beef to make meatloaf for dinner, and a box of gratin potato mix.

Everyone stay warm and dry.

Maggie- yoga near the fireplace sounds good to me....

We're expecting some snow. Hopefully not much. I feel for those in virginia that are stuck on the highway and have been that way for 24+ hours. No gas/food. As of my writing, it looks like crews removed abandoned cars and the highway reopened.
I made a casserole for dinner, choclate chip cookies and had leftover bbq. I'll make stuffed cabbage today or tomorrow.

I donated frozen food to a co-worker. I had a extra styrofoam cooler and cheese-filled items in the freezer so I asked if she wanted it. She said she doesn't cook and was excited about it. She said she doesn't have an oven but I said that maybe a friend has an oven to cook the chicken? The meatballs can be defrosted and cooked in the microwave so she said she would use her crockpot for that

I had to send the vacuum back. Missing parts. Unstable in the upright position. I am sending it back for free and requesting a replacement. I hope they send me a new and working vac this time..

DS2 has congestion and I can hear it. But he must be feeling better since he is back to his ornery self. 😈
Yesterday, I had a huge blood vessel in my eye that broke. It happened at the gym. I went to work and co-workers asked about my eye. Today, the eye is blood shot so I guess it diffused.

Good morning. Yes the situation on I-95 sounded horrible, it was snowing heavily by 10 am Monday but I guess people felt like they had to go out. Timing is everything. Snow has melted in enough spots I can now walk the dogs without it being too slippery. Bad news is more snow expected Friday. I put away Christmas decor yesterday and after re-sorting and pulling out some to donate I have 1 less box to store. Taking some free online training this morning. Thawing chicken and have spinach and mushrooms that should be used up. Have a good day.

Sunny and cold today. Walmart was a bust. They scanned the box and told me it was $80 instead of $59 I show online. They told me I got a great deal at $68. It was my receipt and when I click on the item it comes up $59. Whatever. I'm done.

Dh took the stray dog to the shelter yesterday. Ds' wife insisted on taking it home the night before (to give us a break). Now dgd is devastated. She loved the dog. She wants a dog so bad. She cried all afternoon and all night. So we and ds were looking for puppies. His wife doesn't want a puppy. She's crying that she can't keep the house clean now, and it will pee everywhere and chew up her things and she has school, blah, blah, blah. This situation is her fault and she better treat dgd well or she's getting an earful. She didn't have to take the stray home. I hope it gets adopted. I'm not a fan of pitbulls, but this was seemed really sweet.

Need to get some more laundry done and make a run to Sams. We are almost out of dog treats and dh wants more oranges. I'll figure out something healthy for dinner. May see what there is at Sams. Also need to go through and organize the Christmas stuff.

Cold but sunny today. Chance of snow tonight. Not looking forward to having to go out tomorrow for a doctors appt. Not much going on. Staying home, not spending. Wild rice soup with whatever vegs we have for dinner. Have crackers and cheese left from NYE to finish up.

Hope everyone is staying warm.

yoga by the woodstove is nice...unless I fall over and burn something. My dr prescribed me a POUND of burn cream a couple years back because everytime he saw me at the gym I had another minor burn. He's funny and that is a WAY cheaper way to get silvadene (spelling??? you know, the magic burn cream).

The I-95 stoppage looked epic and scary and really pointed out to me the difference between rural driving and urban.

Did laundry today, went to the post office to mail a pkg. and then to the grocery store. Got Honeycrisp apples for 97 cents a pound and found Carnation canned milk 3 for $1. Went to CVS and bought 2 containers of Melatonin at B1G1 free. I had a coupon for $4 off $12 on the items and $11.12 in bucks. It ended costing me a little over $4. I saved 87% and got another $2 in bucks.

Great deals GB! I hope I can find apples for that price. DH has been enjoying the tangerines, but I need to mix it up next time.

Snow seems to be avoiding us so far, which would be nice come morning. Have a DR appt downtown, don't like to drive into the city, and bad weather makes it worse.

Above freezing yesterday and today so very wet & muddy. More snow and freezing temps expected tonight thru Saturday. There are leftovers but hubby is likely to go to the store since he prefers items that have to be replenished frequently (bananas, lunch meat, sandwich rolls). Still working on knitted hats for donation. Have a good day.

Cool here today....I think it's 60....another cold front coming in....
Rujjero that was very nice of you to think of your co worker....I'm sure she appreciated it....
Maggie that I-95 pile up was scary.....like the weatherman said last night people don't know how to prepare for something like that and they should always carry supplies in their cars which 90% don't....when I lived back north we always had a box with blankets, food, water, those heating things for your hands and feet, extra clothing.....I heard their was a 4 month old baby in one of the cars....that is SCARY.....it's a miracle no one lost their life......
GB that is a good buy on Melatonin.....87% is darn good and to get EB too....you go girl....I haven't been to CVS in awhile...went before Christmas because they sent me $5 and you know how bargain shoppers are....had to use it....lol not liking those new scanners....
CH hope your doctors appointment goes well....I think I forgot to give myself a shot week after Christmas so had to wait till this week and I was hurting....two days and I'm up and walking....I can't take shot if I'm not feeling well and there has been times in the past where I had to wait six week in-between and I wasn't feeling like I did just missing a week....not sure what we will do if it stops working....will worry about it if the time comes....for now I'm feeling much better....
DLR I love to see the first snow but then when it gets dirty, wet and muddy I'm over it....
Jetts I've been wanting fruit but there's not much to choose from....I'm tired of bananas....I picked up some dried apples at Big Lots but sometimes you just want a juicy piece of fruit....
Picking up grandson from school today....mom had to go to country and help her mom....
Nothing planned for weekend.....numbers are up so we are staying away from everyone....
Have a great weekend everyone...stay safe...stay healthy...

Sunny and oh so cold. The snow missed us. Yeah!!! Dh has had to work outside a lot today. He needs to keep some warmer clothes at work for days like this. Ds comes back this afternoon. Dh will pick him up. We took ds' truck to get the oil changed yesterday. We ended up eating tacos again. We really like this new place and it was just down the street from the dealer.

I have taco soup in the crock pot for dinner tonight. Dh said that sounds really good right now. I need to get some tortilla chips to eat with it. Some like chips, some like crackers. I like either. Made a texas sheet cake for dessert. I try to make special things when ds is here. He doesn't get treats very often. I have a couple of loads of laundry to fold. It's so nice to have it dry in one cycle again.

Dgd will come to spend the next couple of nights. She loves her uncle and wants to spend some time with him before he leaves. I don't know if her family will come over too, but I made enough soup for everyone.

good deals! well snowed overnight here a few inches. schools close here now when a couple years they didn't so ds was supposed to go to school.trade program and then cancelled. said well deal w mountain of laundry in your room and do the online career course all kids have to do...not that it is great but you have too. said it is passive cleaning..not washing by hand machine does the work. bit of rain and in the 30s now so things melting. dh was suppose to be off mon to wed but his work didn't care so got bugged all the time. wasn't sure of the roads but he drove me to two work places and bank deposit for volunteer and we got food at the food court..got my Vietnamese food itch scratched. dh and dd got to cruise the mall and have time together. he is back at work but snow day got called when he arrived..yet the people who called it didn't bother going there since they start same time.. not a lot of respect for IT there if stuff goes down for 5mins people are freaking. lol can see the dryer steam going by front window from the side of the house..looks like a blizzard.

has been one of those weeks of annoying people that you didn't do anything but exist. so after putting on dishwasher, nagging ds, breaking up cat fights put on some british tv to mellow out too..found some up to date shows on youtube.. watching xmas at chatsworth house at the moment. love how it is called a house more like a palace lol lovely show.

got milk, creamo, uncle bens flavoured side dish rice for 5 for $5 and marked down apples yesterday at walmart plus gift card for my moms birthday. plenty of food in the house. pulled out hotdogs.. were on sale down to last couple of packs within days..but cheap to feed teens and dh loves them. so got containers of chili and pulled chicken out to add to hotdogs or dinner tomorrow. think will make the cranberry oatmeal cookie mix. have tomatoes from freezer to cook down too. laundry to fold etc too well you guys know housework doesn't end. puttering and cleaning etc

Dr visit was quick, spent more time driving back and forth. Everything same as it was last time. Got a COVID antibody test and will know in a few days how well the vaccine is holding up. She said it is everywhere these days and masks aren't helping any more. We had light snow this morning but it evaporated before I had to go out. Very cold though, not many people out. Made one stop to look at after-christmas stuff, nothing left I wanted, and prices not that great anyway.

Got groceries, mostly vegs, milk, basics. Trying hard to stick to the list. We have so much in the pantry already.

Getting gyros for dinner. Need to get going before traffic gets too busy.
