Will be busy tomorrow. The garage door spring broke and door won't go up or down. Luckily we got 1 car outside. The repairman can come tomorrow and has the replacement part. Also the duct cleaning people had an opening tomorrow. Before they told us it would be after Christmas, I guess they got a cancellation. So that is going on also. Fortunately all my errands got done today. We bought a small tree, only about 3'. The taller ones were crazy expensive.

Everyone sounds like they are keeping busy....It was beautiful here today...83.....

Had an early appt. to have labs done.....lots of bottles....don't know what these two doctors are looking for.....have another lab appt on Thursday for oncologist, then three doctor appts. next week....hopefully that will be it until the new year.

Stopped by to visit a friend who is going thru chemo.....made her some veggie soup. It was a hard visit....I did good until I was telling my husband about the visit....she is in her late 50's. I knew her parents and we became close friends.....lost touch and now we reconnected.....

Dropped off car to be serviced and we will pick up tomorrow.....
Got home late so just had bacon and eggs for dinner......have pork chops out for tomorrows dinner...
Have a craft exchange Christmas party in two weeks.....the girl heading it up moved so we all thought it wasn't going happen but last month she said she will be back for a week and wanted to do it.....so, I decided they will be getting fudge and pumpkin bread....its' the only Christmas thing I do and it's only 9 or 10 or us so it's not a big crowd. Wish it was closer as I will have to drive an hour and it will be at night....I could ask one of my friend's who is going if she can pick me up but I really would rather drive myself so I can leave when I want to...last year I got there early and got blocked in.....going keep that in mind this year.....

Hope everyone has a great week.....stay safe...stay healthy....

Peg- Hope all the appts go well. Maybe uber can get you to/from the party since it's at night. Is there a bus?
Dlrcpa- Sorry about the garage door. That has happened here too. Small trees work great and easy to decorate!

More break-ins around here. A guy at work had his truck broken into but customers noticed and called the cops. The sheriff's dept puts out notices and there's a group burglarizing homes. One lady gave tips on what we all need to do as she said her home was destroyed. Makes me so nervous.....

I made a casserole and pumpkin pie today.

My doctor moved and my routine visit was doubled in price! I called insurance and they said that since her office isn't in a hospital anymore, I now pay 25% of what she bills me. No more co-pays...She is a specialist and my pcp won't see me for chronic illness. I pay thousands for my meds. I may cancel some appts or try a doc out of state since insurance works with out of state people. See what their prices are.

A woman posted a request for help shoveling snow at her home since she broke her arm. I offered and today was the day to help. She offered me $ but I told her to keep it until next time. She said i was silly and said she will find me. ha

Sunny and very cold today. I think I'll be staying in. Besides, a lot of my amazon deliveries are coming today, a day early. That's good, because I'll be gone part of the day taking mom to get her hair done.

I guess mom was bugging my sister about going to the eye doctor. I don't know why she needs to go. She told the PCP she sees just fine with her glasses. Mom is starting to be a real pain these days. She's becoming very demanding. My sister told her no. I'm not going to take her. She goes in February, she can wait. She tells me she hates being a burden. Then stop being a burden. Yesterday we saw a lady getting off of one of those buses the elderly can take. They only help you on and off. The lady was using a walker, so we let her come in first. I was thinking that there is no way mom can use the bus service. So we're stuck with taking her for now. I don't know what will happen when she can no longer move or walk on her own. I told my sister to just ignore her. That's what I do when she starts asking for stuff that isn't necessary.

I may make some soup tonight. I found a package mix for loaded potato soup that someone gave me. That is sounding good to me right now. Dh may have salad. I'm not feeling salad today. Yesterday, I just fixed some mac & cheese and green beans. Dh wasn't feeling well.

Very cold, but sunny today. We didn't get the predicted snow last night, and I'm glad for that. Had an early vet appt to get to, didn't need ice on the roads as well.

Jetts, the soup mix sounds perfect for a cold day.

Ruj, that sucks about the increased medical costs. Definitely shop around. Does your ins have a list of preferred providers for your area? That may help lower costs.

Gangs of thieves are targeting areas here too. Stealing parts off cars, sometimes doing smash-and-grab of whole apartment complexes. Stealing appliances out of vacant apartments, etc. Lot of break-ins over the holiday weekend when places were closed.

Dlr, hope all your repairs are done soon.

BW, that was nice of you to sit with your friend. That's a tough process to go through.

Dinner here is l/o fried chicken and french fries, with broccoli and what ever other l/o vegs or fruits I find. Big shopping trip tomorrow. I did not go last week.

Rujero there is no buses out that far and I guess I could take an uber....I've only used uber when we were in Vegas. Not sure how safe I would feel being this is out in the country and it will be dark.....I watch too many crime shows...lol....anyway I looked at the address last night and it's all freeway driving until I take the exit and then it's just a couple blocks off the freeway so I feel I can do that.....
That's horrible about your doctor. I hate changing doctors and especially when it's a specialist....I will be talking to my doctor about what we are going to do come June when I am going have to go to another med that doesn't cost me an arm and leg....I could be living in a half a million dollar house with the money I have spent out of pocket the past ten years or so....that's sweet of you to shovel for the lady...I'm sure she appreciates it....I don't miss that...I don't miss the cold...I only miss the fall weather....Thankfully the lady doesn't feel she needs to try to do it herself....I hear so much about older people falling on the ice or having heart attacks from shoveling.....thank God for kind people like you who are willing to help...

Jetts hope your deliveries get there.....I saw on fb where people were putting snacks out for the drivers so I thought I do it and the drivers have all been so thankful....my problem is I keep buying snacks and they aren't taking them fast enough...so I feel I need to eat them....going have to start buying stuff I don't like....but after thinking about it, there isn't too much I don't like....LOL...

Pork chops are on....picking up car this afternoon and husband is going have to get some water....we ran out of bottle water....we have never run out of water before...husband is slipping.......good thing we weren't included in the boil water that has been in order for two days this week for the city....we are not on city water and I don't drink water from the faucet....Years ago I laughed at people who paid money for bottle water but now I'm older and wiser and I only cook with the faucet water and it's always boiled so I feel I am safe....

Hope to get the house picked up today and get the table set....Christmas stuff is still in attic....not sure when we can get someone over here to get it down so husband may have to do it....maybe if he does it he will realize we need a shed....He's dragging his feet and saying no but it sure would be easier....but if he had his way the house would not be decorated....very antisocial....opposites attract....I love people and talking (bet you already know that from my posts) ...we use to go to a buffet restaurant and every time I would see someone who would start talking to me and I would stand there and talk for ten minutes....and usually it would be an older man....I think lots of them had no one to talk to at home and I would listen to them....we still laugh about that....me picking up men in the buffet line.....

Have a great day....

Garage door repaired and ducts cleaned. There is probably a lot of dust floating around now that will be mopped up eventually. We were looking at the big rugs and saying we should have them picked up and cleaned. Got a free pumpkin this morning, think it is OK to store for a few days or a week until I feel like preparing it.

that sucks Rujerro having the change in doctors esp w meds involved. You are a sweet person Bookworm! I hear what you are saying Jett.. I know my mil just wanted to see us sometimes that wasn't a med appt or fixing something but then when we were there so much it was just extra work for us wanting some free time. Not the only senior like that either just want a bit of normal in their life outside being sick. They do seem to put anyone with heart problems on high blood pressure pills even if they have low or good blood pressure.. my mom the same so wouldn't go out cus she would be dizzy. Think she gave them up or cut back.

well since we are know for bad drivers anyways ..add a snow storm when we don't get a lot ..heavy wet snow and lots of hills. well took dh 5hrs to get home and he was one of the more lucky ones. even bridges closed cus of the spun out semi trucks, buses etc. so we didn't go out for dd bday ..he picked up pizza at family place on way home thinking because he was off the hwy it would go faster nope 2hrs later. so there was a live stream of a musical cheap so paid for that and we watched it. will do bday cake at grandmas one day this week. bought it monday. suppose to rain and freeze later so will be ugly later. neighbour who got a snow blower last year didn't get much of a chance to use it cus he was up later so most of the walks were shovelled all ready before work. suppose to do before 10am.

of course all the wildlife is hungry so extra bird food etc is out. thought someone was ranting outside nope just teens from school going home..just extra deep voice lol will be making soup later to use up turkey and soup mix. leftover pizza for dh. maybe go work at store tonight will see. always housework and laundry of course. cats not happy cus of the snow though the walks are clear. 40f and sun helped. year end project done, choc and wine given and appreciated. now onto other online work that needs doing.

Cold and windy here. Got a second $5 coupon from Kohls, rewards points I think? That makes $10 off, trying to think of something for hubby. Forgot to mention that he lubricated the brush axle on the vacuum attachment that wasn't working, and it is back to functioning properly. Probably should use it on the couches again. Some messes around the registers to vacuum up from the duct cleaning yesterday. Leftovers for supper tonight. I hope everyone is well.

Above freezing this morning, supposed to get a little warmer. Today is grocery shopping day. May do some holiday shopping for DH, though he doesn't really need or want anything. Going to go through the grocery ad and figure out next week's meals.

Supper is pasta, probably DH will want mac&cheese, and brussels sprouts.

did some grocery shopping because I had prescriptions to pick up. Between the 2, I spent $100. I usually spend about $40. Did get some high cost items like the huge bag of blue corn chips, 2 pack of Flonase (generic, but still) and batteries.
Helped a friend pick out and cut down a Christmas tree. I think she spent the same amount.

Meet and greet for puppy was yesterday evening. The potential adopter also met another dog, heard back today that she is thinking about adopting puppy, just wants to think about it a little more. I’m crossing my fingers. Stopped for some bananas today and filled up the car at Costco for $2.89 a gallon! I couldn’t believe it. After work met my nephew, wife and kids at the park for a walk. I brought foster pup and she did great. My nephew asked if I could adopt him, he’s 40! LOL! We have always had a great relationship since he was a little kid. Made a pork loin for dinner.

Rabbit, hope the puppy finds a home. Good deal on gas. Was 2.99 when I filled up, and is still over 3 in places.

Grey and windy here, but strangely warm. Woke up at 5am with a headache, trying to get rid of it. DH and I are going out this evening. Going to make a big pot of beef barley soup for an early dinner before we go. Got a piece of steak for half price at the market yesterday, was less than the meat that was on sale. Butter was on sale, too, added that to my freezer stockpile. Got 4 boxes of cereal for 1.49 each, and had a coupon for $1 off, so that was nice. Grabbed 3 bags of bbq chips marked down to .99 for DH. Need to spend some time today rearranging the basement pantry so the new stuff is in back and the older stuff gets pulled forward.

Gas is still high here, $3.49 or more. Ordered something for hubby at Kohl's using $15+ in coupons and Kohls Cash, so it was pretty inexpensive. Have to go pick up in the next couple of days. Also got on the grocery store web site and put a bunch of "free" items on my list using grocery points before they expired. When I go to the store and get them they will be free. Some good deals like milk, cheese and bacon. Working on sewing and knitting projects and need to brush the dogs more often. Every time I vacuum in their room the amount of dog hair is surprising. Cleaning in other rooms as I notice the messes left behind. Have a few more things to ask hubby about fixing. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

It's so windy today. I just had to go out and put the trash can away. It was laying in the street. Picked up the bowls for the stray cats. I ran over one yesterday. I think I'll be staying in today. I have lots of cleaning to do. I was wanting to put up some outdoor decor, but it's too windy. I know youngest dgd would love it.

Taking mom here and there is exhausting. She's being such a pain. The PCP called in a prescription for eye drops. We went to pick it up, but the insurance won't pay, so he had a call into the doctor. My sister went yesterday and there are no prescriptions. He said the doctor called mom. I bet anything she told him never mind. She told me she had some antibiotic drops from her eye doctor and maybe there was a refill, but there wasn't. Now she says she'll just wait until February. That's right. I guess a PCP can't diagnose an eye infection, in her mind.

Last night we went to look at Christmas lights with ds and family. Youngest dgd loved it. They both did, but she's at the age that it's really exciting. Then we went to eat. It was a fun evening. I'm going to pull out some more of my Christmas stuff and go through it so dgds can decorate tonight. Dgd loves to "customize" my house. I know there are pieces that I will get rid of. I had two fabric snowmen that I threw out this year. They sat on top of my curio for years and were covered in the greasy dust. I'm not in love with them, so they went in the trash. I've picked up a few new pieces from dollar tree to hopefully make a winter scene with my snowmen.

My potato soup mix was a bust. Maybe someone would like it, but there was some seasoning in it that just didn't go. Neither of us liked it. Tonight if the girls come over, I think we'll have tacos. It's something both will eat. I usually make them some cheesy roll ups. Oldest will eat a regular taco and I think youngest had a lettuce taco last time.

Jetts- Sorry about the soup. I got a mix tonight and started to make it but then I looked at the ingredients and saw one that I refuse to ingest. So, it got tossed. I was so looking forward to it too,

CH- Those are great deals.

Dlrcpa- Gas is high here too. DH went to Sam's Club and found it for $2.79, tho.

I was in the process of making banana muffins but the bananas are not ripe enough. So, I switched gears and made orange cranberry muffins...But then I remembered I dumped a lot of cinnamon in the flour mixture before switching gears....Yup, they are very cinnamony....

My nephew is tough to buy for and every Christmas, it's always a head scratcher. I asked my sis and she said a card to Amazon. Easy. I'm sending gc's by email as it's cheaper and hard to get stolen. One year, I sent a box of gifts to my sis and the tracking number said it was delivered. I asked if she got the box and she said no, maybe it was taken....So, she kept checking her camera and I ended up re-buying items and in the end.......She figured out that my wrapping paper was the same as hers, so she got confused.......I was pretty mad and mostly send things by email now.

Rainy morning here. Ordered a Target GC for 10% off (sale this weekend only) for future pantry shopping use. First time I have done this but worked really easily. Probably should go out and do a few errands today. Leftovers for supper but I may put a ham bone and split peas in the crock pot for myself. Watching all the grocery ads carefully for deals.

I found pkgs of sausage on clearance..I planned on ziti...Well, one is spicy italian and the other is beer brat...Maybe DH can smoke the brats and I can use the italian....I didn't pay attention! DH is not a fan of spicy sausage and I don't know if anyone has tried beer brats..Good grief.

I promised my special needs friend a birthday gift from american girl. She has to pick one out since the catalog arrived. It took months to get a catalog, after several requests.

I will post a request about engineering jobs on the local site.DS2 is concerned he won't find a job after graduating since he decided not to do internships. See if anyone has their own biz or who may need a new grad....
