I tried two new recipes this week. First was chicken Parmesan lasagna. Layer your sauce on the bottom of the pan then place uncooked lasagna noodles on top. Next up is another layer of sauce then frozen chicken nuggets or strips and cheese. From there keep building in that order until you get to the top of pan. Bake at 350 for roughly an hour - it’s cold when you can put a knife through the noodle. Sprinkle a bit more cheese on top then back in oven till that melts and it’s done.

You can obviously use your own sauce recipe, make your own chicken nuggets etc if you want to avoid the heavily processed foods. I try to keep our consumption of those down as it’s better for our blood pressure.

The second recipe was Sweet Hawaiian crockpot chicken. 2 lbs of chicken, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup soy sauce and one cup of pineapple juice. Cook on low. Recip said eight hours but I had boneless skinless chicken breasts and they were done after an hour and a half.

Dh said the sauce was good and I dribbled it over rice for a side. The chicken didn’t seem to pick up the taste of the sauce very much. The sauce is watery so I think for the leftovers I will thicken up the sauce a bit so it clings more to the chicken.

Tried crock pot round steak tonight. 2lbs if round steak, two cans (or homemade) cream of whatever you pick soup, one soup can of water, one packet brown gravy, one packet ranch seasoning and one stick of butter. Cook on low. It smelled wonderful! The steak was so tender and the flavoring was really good.
