Company gone. She has my cold. Hubby and I had freezer meals for supper. We also made plans to prep for a budget meeting tonight that will be held sometime tomorrow. Tomorrow we’ll do laundry and deep clean the guest bedroom, as company was quite sick while here. Then Thursday I’ll get back to working in my studio. At least that’s the plan.

Sunny and below freezing again. No plans. Same old housework. Those of you down south stay safe and warm.

Dirty rice from a boxed mix, plus a side salad for dinner.

It's sunny and starting to warm up. Should be better tomorrow. Dgd spent the night last night. She didn't want to go home, but she needed to do school. She left her phone, so I had to drop it off. Stopped and got a dog harness. Hope it fits. Found a narrow basket for under the bathroom sink. Didn't have the soup ladles I wanted to get. stopped at one store for a few items. They were out of the paper towels they had a coupon for. Limit two. The spot on the shelf probably held 4 packages. If I feel like it, I'll stop at another location tomorrow. Stopped at Schlotsky's while I was out. Haven't eaten there for a few years.

Working on dh's work clothes. The sleeves in the shirts are too small, so I cut the seam, add some fabric and he's good to go. Also need to hem the pants. They give an inseam, but they come unhemmed. I at least got the shirts pinned and ready to sew. Need to import some documents for taxes. Supposed to be ready today.

Not cooking tonight. Last night I cooked fish, asparagus and rice for dh. He took it for lunch and ate a little last night. Could throw a load in the wash and do some clean up later on. Need to get some decluttering/organizing done. It's just overwhelming. I think I need to make a list and assign a task each day. My task today was to fix dh's shirts. Also need to make some doctor appointments for my dad. I don't think he's going this month. My calendar is already full. I don't know why they didn't say anything sooner. He needs meds refilled. I'm not having another month like 6 months ago.

dh coming home earlier because we have early dinner plans at a fancier restaurant. special deal w set menu. did snow yesterday and last night but now in the 40s so melting away and not icing up. He actually had a great time getting home from work yesterday so think lots of people just worked at home.

need to get more seed suet blocks and bird seed cus no more blocks and down to cup of seeds. will be in trouble if I don't. they sit on the cable lines and stare at me though the front window lol since I had to be up early monday for doc appt. I have been going to bed earlier and up earlier. screwing with the animals schedules.

don't need to shop as the house is stuffed at the moment. split up the steaks some in slow cooker for goulash tomorrow and rest last night. one leftover so ds dinner. dd likes plain ones so had made one for her last night. leftover is the marinated ones. ds had his first driving lesson yesterday and did good. didn't learn bad habits from dh lol

did laundry just have to put away. plus all the reg puttering and cleaning you guys know. dug out a basket for my makeup from downstairs. slowly getting things decluttered and done. tiny bit every day adds up...hoping anyways :)

Good morning everyone! This morning is sunny and cold. There is ice on the roads and sidewalks, so I don’t think I’ll be walking outside much.

Today’s jobs will be writing a blog post, joining a Zoom crafting session with a friend, and going to the dentist. Because the dentist is late in the day, and we ate most of the lentil soup last night, we’ll have freezer meals again tonight.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, chilly 30 degrees here, no wind. Hubby will grill chicken for supper with extra for future use, and I'll probably make mashed potatoes or possibly a cheesy casserole using a free container of cheese dip. Finished library book, have another one ready. Still working on scarf and hat. Library also has free streaming movies (limit 5/month) and I watched part 1 of a documentary last night. Hope everyone is staying warm.

Sunny and clear for the first time in a long time. Freezing, but supposed to warm into the 40's today. Should be nice out. I'm going to run a few errands, and get milk and vegetables while I'm out. Have a box of donations to drop off, too.

Dinner is going to be a chicken and vegetable stir fry, since I have a lot of asian vegs left over from last week. DH really liked it.

Hang in there Chum, at 50F the ice will melt very quickly.

went to the store, register did not take off my digital coupons. CS rep was like, Meh. Gave me a phone number to call, they are sending me a digital gift card for the same amount. I bought some pricey items I would not have bought without getting coupons for them.

Nicer day today, but feeling blah. Didn't sleep well. I did take some melatonin and I think I have a sleep hangover. Wasn't looking forward to taking my mom today. They wanted Taco Bell for lunch. Their card reader wasn't working, cash only. Luckily I had enough cash to get their lunch. Mom's back was really bothering her yesterday. She said next time, she's going to have them stop the dialysis and she's going home. My sister said no, you stay there and deal with it like everyone else.

Paid bills, not sure what happened but not much leftover. That just makes me feel even worse. Just so overwhelmed with everything right now. Dh mentioned meeting his brother for dinner tonight. That might be what I need. I was going to fix fried rice, but dh can mix up some tuna for lunch for tomorrow. I can save the rice for Sunday. Tried to import the tax stuff and had to come back today. Then it said there was nothing to report. I guess that is a good thing. Still need to finish dh's shirts.

Need to declutter the sewing room so I can use it. There are boxes of dh's uniforms. I think they are all old ones now and can be thrown out. That will get rid of a lot. Need to find a way to organize all the craft stuff. I'd like it where the girls can see it and just get it out when they want.

Grocery store was already out of the .99 chicken breast. Meat manager said they didn't think it would be a popular item. Seriously? Store manager offered me a raincheck. I'll go back later in the month when I have more room in my freezer.

Had a nice lunch, have leftovers for at least 2 more days. Avoided going to some stores for sale items we didn't really need. Dropped off a box of books and old clothes at the charity shop. Used some expiring coupons for other discounts and free items.

Good morning everyone! So the dental implant is going to cost us - are you sitting down? - at least $4100 CAD. I had the scans and x-rays done yesterday. Also a long talk with the dentist. My case isn’t exactly straight forward. I have allergies to most antibiotics. He was very kind. I expected everything yesterday to come to over $600. In the end he only charged me for the scans and x-rays, not for his time. It was $240.00. I submitted a claim to the insurance company last night, and screwed it up. Sent them a quick email asking how to fix it. Am awaiting their reply.

Hubby was relieved the bill was so low, but curious why. I’ve been very clear with the dentist that I am not prepared to go over $5000 per tooth.

I asked him if this is going to be a recurring issue with my teeth and he sidestepped the question. I’m on certain medications that cause a condition called dry socket in the mouth. Dry socket allows bacteria to get into your gumline and cavities to form at the base of your teeth, rotting them from the bottom up. They are almost impossible to fix. Usually the tooth cracks (like mine did), gets infected, and has to come out. That’s what happened with mine.

My other choice was to go toothless or wear a bridge. I do not like the toothless idea, and the bridge was going to destroy two adjacent teeth to fit the bridge in place, and cost two thirds the price. It would have to be replaced in ten to fifteen years, actually making it the more expensive option long term. So I opted for an implant.

I have until March before the initial work is done and the first payment of approximately $2000 is due. We have the money in the bank. So that’s not a problem. It’s just that it’s so much money for one tooth!

Good morning. "Feels like" 20 degrees here due to wind chill, at least the sun is shining. Hubby could not resist the lure of the new grocery store that opened Wednesday. He came home loaded with pricey junk food. Like 2 huge chocolate covered & decorated strawberries for $5.50 and a cherry-almond crostata for $14. Leftovers for supper tonight.
Need to take care of housework and paperwork today and try a different exercise video. The legs / balance video I chose yesterday had no music, pretty boring. They had 5 versions of that workout labeled A-E and none had music. Need to keep it in the rotation but will be dull.
Dog2 broke another leash swivel clasp, that is the 2nd one. I found a plastic one on hand to use but my guess is it won't last long. Need to buy some metal replacements. Have a good weekend.
