I gave birth to my daughter when I turned 40 :) Now she is almost 4 - time sure does fly. I had my son at 38, and he is starting kindergarten this year- 40's are the best time - I am not obsessed with my looks like I was in my 30's or 20's so I am more relaxed about myself- and really enjoying my kids. This is the best time of my life so far :)

LADIES....I AM SHOCKED!!!:ponder:
As I was reading thru this thread I noted that several people have revealed their ages....I thought what in the world!!!:smirk:
I absolutely feel that telling one's age is sacred...sacred...sacred I say. My mother refuses to tell her age and I refuse to tell mine. So sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....no more mentioning age...because age is just a number and we are our mental ages...not physical ages. I think that should be the general population's attitude. We are young, young, young but wise beyond our years.:cuckoo:
Trust me on this one, if I tried to be my mental age, my physical age would come shinning thru in a heartbeat!!

I am almost 48. Turning 40 didn't bother me, it was turning 41 that almost got me. I have to say, these last couple of years have been the best yet.

I just turned 49! My daughter was born when I was 44 so I'm definitely in the older mama category. Something does seem to happen to one's psyche at age 40. This has been the best decade of my life. I hope the next one is as good!

One of the many things I will never understand about women.
Not that I'm asking you all to change, I'll just never understand it.
I'm with you RC... I always figured that I was the perfect age... especially since I didn't have much choice about it. 46 and feeling wonderful. Maybe it's because, as I was telling my older sister the other day... "I'm the baby and until Mom (who is 79) has more kids, I will always BE the baby." That and having no kids of my own to remind me constantly of how old I am.... makes it so I keep forgetting that I'm not still 15 myself.... at King's Island ...standing in line for the Log Flume listening to Donna Summer over the intercom.... OK... now I feel kinda old... :weeping:

I am 46, and not afraid to tell anyone who asks. I started college last year at 45. Sometimes I wish I was younger, there are so many things I still want to do.

My own turning 40 didn't throw me. My ex turning 60 and my niece turning 40 - now THAT threw me! I'm 48 now, and looking forward to 50 and the benefits that come with it!

I am 47 but after passing 25(my mental Idea of old age when I was young) the b-days haven't bothered me. I am more into healthy living now as the vision is going. My mother always said to much of that bedroom activity would do it. I guess I reached it at 44, can't go anywhere without my reading glasses.

Third Agers

Folks, I am taking care of a partially disabled DH, & helping my kids & grandkids sometimes, & I still know how to have fun when my schedule permits. I am ONLY73.

48 here!

I in no way want to go back to my 20's, 30's maybe, then again maybe not, all I did was work and sleep. LOL

Most of my heath problems have been in my 40's and while my body may be giving out in certain parts, my mind is still YOUNG! :D

Almost 46 here (in the fall)..my kids are growing up, getting married and leaving me. I'm totally empty nesting it. My hub is a bore and all he wants to do is golf, or watch golf, or talk about golf, or look at golf sites on the internet. When he's gone to work/golfing..I have no wheels and get stuck at home alone.
A big empty house and nothing to do but clean and garden. It's a lonely life being 45 3/4.

I turned 40 two months ago and it was hard for me....mostly because my mom wasn't here to share it with me (she passed away last October). I know she is with me in spirit though, so that gives me a lot of comfort. It's funny, now whenever people ask my age, I whisper it to them....like it is something to be ashamed of. I REALLY have to stop doing that! LOL

I am 47 an don't care who knows it. I am told I don't look my age (thanks, all you wonderful lying friends out there!) and am enjoying life to its fullest. I definitely feel my age when I get up in the morning, when the Rice Krsipies guys join me in bed (Snap, Crackle and Pop are with me EVERY morning!). However, once the kinks are out, I go, go and go some more!

well it's not that I feel old, because I don't. I'm ready to go and do things...hike..fish..windowshop..etc ANYTHING to get out of the house. Most of my friends who live in town are divorced or single and are always "going" somewhere out of town like casinos' etc looking to pick up men. That's not my thing..my married friends have husbands that like to do things with them. My sister in laws and I get along fine but they too like to do the casino route and quite frankly who has money to do that? My other friends that I keep in contact with from high school all live out of town now so email or phone is the only way to connect with them..I'm just SO BORED. SOMEONE HELP ME PLLLLLEAAAASSSE!
