5 ingredients, a tomato black bean soup


Recipe Description
This was VERY good, simple, soup and could be made
as extravagant as you like by adding more
ingredients.​
Preparation Steps:
Soak black beans overnight. I only used 1 cup of
black beans. Drain water and rinse.
Open cans of tomato sauce and black olives.
Cut tomato into large chunks.​
Level of Difficulty:
Easy​
Time Needed:
soak beans overnight then 1 day in crockpot​
Ingredients:
1 cup black beans
1 can tomato sauce.
2 cans water to
rinse tomato sauce
can into crock pot
1 small can sliced
black olives
1/2 cup frozen
chopped green
pepper (or fresh if
you like)
1 tomato​
Serves:
About 3 cups, could add more water.​
Directions:
Throw it all in the crock pot, on low, all day.

The tomato just added a nice chunkiness. The
tomato sauce I used was store brand generic, not
spaghetti sauce. The black olives, if you like them,
added salt. I did not add any seasonings, it was
very flavorful on its own, for my own preference.
It was in the crock pot from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m
and the beans were tender but not mush. It made
3 cups of soup and was good for 3 days without
becoming mushy or bland. I devoured it and will
make this again!​
